Dear members,
Legislative days 9 – 12 were last week as well as continued Committee action in both the House and the Senate. The House Appropriations Committee passed the Supplemental Fiscal Year (FY23) budget, the budget that will implement mid-year adjustments to the FY23 budget that was passed at the end of last session. It passed out of a full House vote on Thursday and will be taken up by the Senate Appropriations Subcommittees this week. House Appropriations Subcommittees are expected to begin considerations for the FY24 next week. We will keep you updated on these meetings as funding for our Rural Teacher Training Initiative (RTTI) is housed within the Department of Education’s budget and will be considered by the Education Subcommittee of both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.
Senate Bill 1, legislation banning COVID vaccine requirements for state government offices and agencies, passed out of the Senate Health & Human Services committee last week. This is only extending the sunset from the original bill that passed last year, but we are monitoring for any language changes.
House Bill 85, legislation requiring insurance coverage of biomarker testing if ordered by a medical professional, was assigned to the House Insurance Committee and will be heard by the Life and Health Subcommittee today at 2 p.m. Livestream of the meeting will be available HERE.
Join us on Wednesday, February 22nd for a Legislative Reception at the CGHI Innovation District! Sponsorship opportunities, including private legislative meetings, are listed below and registration link will be available soon.
