Dear Families and Community Partners,
April was an exciting month of STEM outreach. Students explored AI at Brubaker Elementary, discovered STEM careers at Meredith Middle School, and enjoyed Howe Elementary’s Science Night, where they created fun paper helicopters and learned about flight.
This summer, we are expanding opportunities with our Drone Program, hands-on experiences through Waukee Community Education Space Program, June Rural Outreach Program and our Food Chemistry Camp, where students will explore nutrition and food insecurity.
These programs connect learning to real-world challenges while building skills for future careers.

Jewels Academy June Waukee Astrolab
Jewels Academy's three-day AstroLab: Space Mission Training was filled with excitement, discovery, and fun for our K–3rd grade students! Young astronauts created shields, built rockets to save Earth from asteroids, tested parachutes, and completed astronaut training exercises while exploring space through hands-on STEM activities. Every day was packed with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving as students learned through play and imagination. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made AstroLab an unforgettable adventure and inspired the next generation of scientists, engineers, and space explorers! |
