Friends and supporters,
Thank you, thank you for showing up for kids, families, and youth this past holiday season and throughout the year!
Thanks to you and your votes, I'm so excited to announce CAPTAIN CHS has won one of the top spots in the Times Union's Capital Region Gives contest - earning us $10,000 in advertising throughout 2024.
But that's not all. Thanks to more than 438 donations from individuals and businesses throughout our service area, so much joy was found by families this holiday season, including:
More than 1,000 individuals enjoyed a holiday meal through the Thanksgiving Basket program
More than 200 adults and children have quality, warm coats through the Coats for CAPTAIN program
More than 600 children unwrapped gifts, thanks to your donations and the Toys for Toga program
As we embark on another year at CAPTAIN CHS, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the collective efforts that have lifted people up and built brighter futures.

📝 Free Tax Preparation at CAPTAIN CHS!
CAPTAIN CHS is once again offering free tax preparation at its main office in Clifton Park!
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is in its 21st year at CAPTAIN CHS, and our IRS-certified volunteers are happy to prepare returns for households with income under $60,000. Click the link below to make an appointment. Call 518-371-1185 x111 with questions.
We are beyond grateful for the incredibly, incredibly amazing donation from Starpoint Church—226 bags of donated food for Cheryl's Lodge and our Food Pantry! Your generosity is nothing short of extraordinary and is making a monumental impact on the lives of those in our community.

Join us for the January Monthly Senior Zoom In! Learn about how to build safe relationships and protect you or a loved one from interpersonal scames. The presentation will take place on Zoom, with Christine Keegan, Director of Programming at Wellspring, beginning at 1:00pm on January 31st.

🦸♂️ Community Hero Alert: Next Generation Roofing
Embracing the spirit of giving, Next Generation Roofing adopted two wonderful families in Halfmoon Heights! Our hearts were warmed as they brought joy to Cheryl's Lodge, accompanied by Santa, a feast of pizza, and Stewarts gift cards for ice cream sundaes – spreading happiness to the youth during homework help time. Next Generation Roofing, you are truly AMAZING!
💐 Hannaford Gives Back
Hannaford is making a difference for our Food Pantry, each and every day!
Throughout the month of January, each time a Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet is purchased at the Hannaford in Clifton Park (19 Clifton Country Rd #16, Clifton Park), we'll receive $1. Just look for the red sticker on the bouquet!
Throughout the month of February, each time a reusable bag is purchased at the Ballston Hannaford (3 Via Rossi Way, Ballston Spa), we'll receive $1 in support of our Food Pantry!
