ACPL Construction Update
ACPL is excited to announce that it was the recipient of additional federal funding from a second round of grant applications through the Wyoming Library Multi-Purpose Community Facility Program (WLMCF), bringing the estimated full project cost to $2,612,221!
Funding Info:
Costs covered by WLMCF grant funds: $2,515,769
Costs covered by Albany County 1% or Albany County Rec Board funds: $45,316
Unfunded expenses: $51,136
With the additional funds, Phase 2 of the project will improve upon Phase 1. The conference room will expand to accommodate larger groups. A single user bathroom will be installed in the lobby area and ACPL will install new water fountains. The main lobby area will expand to provide more enclosed space to provide public access to the three multi-purpose spaces.
Timeline:
The project is currently out for public bid for a contractor. A contractor bid is expected to be selected in early December 2024 with construction to begin by early January 2025.
In the meantime, ACPL staff are working to clean out the spaces in preparation of upcoming construction.
Per grant guidelines, the project must be completed by September 2026.
Construction Kickoff Celebration:
ACPL and the ACPL Foundation held a construction kickoff celebration in early October. Attendees participated in a community art project, completing a group mural designed by Favian Hernandez and free painting on walls. ACPL also provided tours of the planned infrastructure project. The event was a huge success with around 400 people in attendance. Special thanks to the Albany County Public Library Foundation for the financial support of this event, in recognition of the Sally Dieterich Restricted Fund. See photos of the kickoff on the ACPL Facebook page.
Library Updates

Hosted an awesome Meet the Author Fest in September with 28 authors and 135 people in attendance.
