Traditional Polish folk dancers at the CRS World Reunion in Poland.
Dear Ryan,
As we approach the close of our fiscal year at the end of this month, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude.
Your belief in us and the value of compassionate leadership is what fuels our work year after year.
Our current fundraising efforts are focused on directly supporting our camper scholarships, which allow as many young people as possible to access our program. I ask you to considerbeing a donor for this initiative, knowing that your gift opens the door for the next generation of campers.
Earlier this month, many people in our community came together for the World Reunion in Poland. Thank you to everyone who attended and all of our alums who spent months planning to make this reunion a success! Gatherings like this remind us just how deeply the Camp Rising Sun experience resonates throughout our lives. It's a reminder of how important it is to maintain these threads of connection that begin at Camp, and can shape a brighter future the more we nurture them.
We are so fortunate to be a part of a community of people who live out the values of compassion, self-development, and humanitarianism each day.
Sincerely,
Helene Mattera
Executive Director
CRS WORLD REUNION IN POLAND!
From September 6-8, 2024, Rising Suns from all around the world and across generations gathered in Szteklin, Poland for the World Reunion!
Alumni left the weekend feeling energized, with a sense of gratitude for having a community of people with whom they can have hard conversations during turbulent times. There was a renewed appreciation for, and belief in the importance of programs like Camp Rising Sun.
We were excited to see alumni spanning more than 60 years! We loved gathering with those who had attended Camp in the 1960s and also seeing about 20 campers from 2019-2024 were in attendance, including The Ethical Leadership Experience (TELE) participants!
Thank you to the CRS Polish Alumni Association and the planning committee—Kasia Ciesla '99, Agnieszka Szefer '07, Filip Sulma '95, Agata Szczepanska '12, Barbara Ciosk '15—for hosting this special event.
“Thank you all so much for this amazing reunion. First to the Polish AA for your hard work that made it happen. We felt your love and devotion. Then, to all who left their everyday life and gathered. It is so amazing and exciting to see how the magic works. You gather a great bunch of people (from all ages and backgrounds), put them in a wonderful site and the magic happens!” -Avi B., Israel
What a beautiful weekend of connection, reminiscing, culture, and community.
