Investment of the decade: Anduril Industries kicks off $3.7B project in Maryland By Daniel Leaderman | 10/6/2026

Defense manufacturer Anduril Industries is bringing a major software-defined shipyard to Tradepoint Atlantic in Baltimore County, which will be the largest single private investment and the largest job creator in Maryland in over a decade.

Anduril plans to invest $3.7 billion in private capital in its new facility, which will expand America’s submarine industrial base and continue a legacy of naval shipbuilding at Sparrows Point, where Bethlehem Steel produced steel and ships during both World Wars.

The company’s investments are expected to deliver over $2 billion in annual economic output, including an estimated $312 million in wages each year. Overall, the project will support more than 14,000 jobs, with Anduril creating more than 3,100 direct jobs in Maryland.
