What We Don't Dare Ask
St. Jean Vianney, the Curé of Ars, wanted to help his parishioners develop a sense of holy awe at what happens in the Mass. During one homily, speaking of the Lord's real Presence in the Eucharist, he said
“If we had one favor to ask of Our Lord, we would never have thought to ask God for His own Son, … to have His Son die for us, to give us His Body to eat, His Blood to drink. But what man couldn’t say or conceive, what he never would have dared desire, God in His love has said, conceived and acted on.”
This is how much the Father loves YOU.

Novena of the Queenship of Mary
Our annual novena in honor of Mary's Queenship began this past Monday, Aug. 14 and concludes Tuesday, Aug. 22 the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. If you missed the beginning, you can still jump in!
This year's intention: That Mary leads us to a deeper realization of Her Son's True Presence in the Eucharist.
You are welcome to add your own intention and to choose the prayer with which to make the novena.
THIS PAST WEEK AT THE MISSION
The last of six utility poles that are needed to bring electricity to the site of the Sisters' new residence, is being prepared to go into the ground. On the horizon, three of the new poles are visible.
Electric crew workers make sure the new electric lines clear the tree branches so the lineman can attached them to the pole.
Shepherds' Hill is the end of the line. Let there be power!
Nothing glamorous to see here, but it does show progress on framing the future foundation.

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.
