Join us tonight for Thinking Religiously Together
Wednesday, May 10, 7:00 - 8:00 pm, Zoom

MnMN is excited to announce a new "convening" or gathering of people interested in exploring religious traditions together. This convening titled "Thinking Religiously Together" will provide an opportunity for participants to consider different topics that touch on our religious understanding.

Each month we will invite a new guest to present on a topic of interest. This person could be a religious leader, scholar or faith practitioner. We are hoping for lively and personal discussion based on shared learning. As always, we hope that this convening leads to further both education and new connections with others in our greater community.

Thinking Religiously Together is facilitated by MnMN Board Chair, Professor Anant Rambachan, and MnMN Network Executive, Dr. Jen Kilps.

Plurationalist Dialogue 121: How Will The World End?
Monday, May 15, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Zoom

The reasoning theists, atheists, liberals, libertarians, & conservatives of Secular Bible Study, Circle of Ijtihad, First Minneapolis Circle of Reason, & Winnipeg Circle of Reason join Inter-Belief Conversation Café for our 121st Plurationalist (Interbelief Reasoning) Dialogue, "How Will The World End?"

Robert Frost addressed the likely expiration of the world in his poem, “Fire and Ice”:

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

So will our passions lead to global warming beyond control or the fires of nuclear apocalypse? Will mutual suspicion and alienation freeze all possibility of cooperation for common ends? Will the ties that bind us continue to unravel? Will we be the agent of our own downfall, or will divine anger (or for those of us who do not believe in vengeful deities, a rogue asteroid) do it for us? Will we go out with a bang or a whimper?

On Monday, May 15 from 7-9 PM by Zoom, we will face annihilation -- hopefully in the distant future. Our interbelief reasoning dialogue's agreements of open-mindedness, acceptance, curiosity, discovery, sincerity, brevity, and confidentiality are designed to stave off final (or at least immediate) catastrophe. In the meantime, don’t worry; be happy, because who knows what could happen!
