Field Trip to Peterson/Ridge Metra Station 🚆🚉 - May 23rd @ 5:30pm
Come along with YPT Chicago as we explore the brand-new Peterson/Ridge station on the Union Pacific North line!
We'll spend roughly 25 minutes checking out all the cool features this station has to offer before heading nearby to Fireside Lounge for a social hour.
If you're coming from downtown, meet us at Chicago's Ogilvie Transportation Center (OTC), where we'll catch UP-N Train #359 toward the new station. We'll kick off the tour shortly after train #359 arrives, so if you're joining us there make sure to be on time!
This event is free to attend for all regardless of YPT membership status.
Join YPT Chicago to meet local transportation professionals and ask them questions about their career journey after graduation!
Open to all related majors like, Civil Engineering, Communications, Geography, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Public Policy & Administration, Urban Planning and more!
YPT Chicago is also seeking seasoned professionals for this event! If you are a current leader in the transportation space, we would love to have you join for this event!
This event is free to attend for all regardless of YPT membership status.
YPT Chicago is partnering with Transport Chicago to allow students who are also active YPT members to attend for free! YPT will sponsor up to 15 students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Use this form to request a sponsorship.
Requests for Sponsorship must be submitted by May 30th for consideration! Requests submitted after May 30th may not be eligible for sponsorship.

There are hundreds of streets, that add up to thousands of miles on the Chicago grid - one of the most perfect metropolitan grids in the world. Do you know approximately how many miles of the streets in Chicago are permissible to cyclists?

Last Months Question & Answer:
There are a lot of really old streets in Chicago, but one of them stands out as one of the oldest. This street has been named the same since the original incorporation of Chicago in the 1830's, and was even where the very first Mayor of Chicago's house was. Do you know this street?
New limited-stop express train service, ADA Accessiblity Improvements and Bikes on Trains has been expanded to include all trains, all year long, at existing bike stations.
