SUNDAY MASS BEGINS AT 10:00 AM
She Carries You In Her Arms
Today is the Feast of
Our Lady of Sorrows
The Crucifixion:"Jesus seems to be turning ominously livid,...as if He were already dead. His head begins to hang over His chest. His strength fails Him rapidly. He shivers, although He is burning with fever. And in His weakness, He whispers the name that so far He has only uttered in the bottom of His heart: "Mother! Mother!" He murmurs it in a low voice, like a sigh, as if He were already slightly delirious and thus prevented from holding back what His will would not like to reveal. And each time Mary makes an unrestrainable gesture of stretching Her arms, as if She wished to succour Him. And the cruel people laugh at such pangs of Him Who is dying and of Her Who suffers agonies." From The Gospel as Revealed to Me, Maria Valtorta
Just as the Sorrowful Mother stood at the foot of the Cross of Her Son, and received the last drops of His Blood, that came forth when His Heart was pierced, so too is She close to YOU, carrying you in Her arms, receiving into Her Heart the new drops from YOUR pierced heart --- all your pain, all your offerings, all your acts of surrendering, of Faith, of Humility, of Obedience. She collects them all and unites them to Her Own and to those of Her Son, Jesus. This is what keeps open the floodgates of Mercy, which the world needs so desperately.

THIS PAST RETREAT WEEK AT THE MISSION
Last week's Women's Encounter With Jesus retreat had to go down as the hottest on record! The 100+ temperatures were unrelenting, but, very evidently, so were God's graces. Here is a small selection of remarks gathered from the input sheets that the retreatants filled out.
The opportunity to be silent with Jesus in our busy world of chaos is Golden. A true blessing to Treasure. ~Leslie
Practical approach to deepening faith. Focus on faith, not feelings or opinions or intellect. Focus on silence and listening to God in the quiet of our hearts. I've been on numerous retreats in the past. This is different. It is deeper and most of all sustainable. ~Mary
It was all so wonderful-- and the heat, the dormitory, the sacrifice of silence-- all added to the graces received.~ Kathy
I don't need a retreat to make new friends. You gave me the one friend I need --Our Blessed Mother. ~ Dolores
Father's talk--this is the first time in my 12 years as a Catholic that the Mass and the Eucharist have been so well and thoroughly explained. Mother Magdalene's teaching and wise counsel regarding Mother Mary finally helped me to break through and entrust my life to Her.~Diana
Everyone needs a reset. To be reminded of how full of mercy our God is.~ Anonymous
I feel like this retreat was a start to me learning to speak to Jesus and Mary more simply... to having a deeper relationship with Them instead of it being so formal. Really being in Their presence. ~ Lorri
My favorite part was the morning hike. It was a bit rough, but I had a couple of angels with me: the dorm leader and another retreatant.~ Anonymous
On the hike we came to the statue of the Blessed Mother and I asked her to watch over my children and nephew since they are grown and I am not around them. And I felt this overwhelming feeling come over me: Our Blessed Mother telling me that She does watch over them. I broke down and cried.~ Amy
And as we always hear --The meals were better than delicious---they were clearly prepared with LOVE. ~Ann
In these confusing times, how are we to understand the virtue of obedience? In this talk we will reflect on examples from Scripture, the Catechism, Aquinas and others in an effort to understand the Mystery of the Church, and how we are called to live obedience.
Confession is heard Saturday mornings by appointment, and on Sunday mornings from 8:00-8:45 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary
MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.
Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

My husband Marcus and I went for the first time to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on August 20 at the Mission of Divine Mercy. We were speechless for a while after Mass. The reverence. The music. The communion rails. The veils. The Holy of Holies celebrated and worshiped as He should be. Thank you so very much for welcoming us so warmly. We just moved into the area and have found our spiritual home! ~Selma

Jesus I Trust In You, therefore I ask that you help Kristin Deleon on her journey to a bone marrow transplant soon. She is my niece and suffering with Leukemia. I pray for a miracle! Jesus, I pray that you help my son David. He is a new father and needs your guidance and wisdom. ~ Angie ****
Thank you for your loving tribute to Mike Norris who introduced me to 33 Days of Morning Glory!!~Cindy ****
