Bike Bright at Night!
HBL is partnering up with HPD’s Community Policing Team this fall to help shine a light on night-riding safety with two bike light giveaway events on October 17th and November 21st (both Thursdays) in the Waikīkī area. At these sunset pop-up events we not only provide education to night riders riding risky without lights but we actually install lights straight onto their bikes so they can be seen and be safer when cycling.
Want to help light up the night for those in need? Email Malia@HBL.org for the volunteer deets!
In The News and In The Loop
As safety advocates for vulnerable road users, HBL’s work has been getting more coverage in local media recently, especially regarding e-bikes.
On a more somber note, we coordinated a meeting for Chelsea Meyer at the office of the Lt. Governor. Chelsea is working to channel the profound grief from losing her parents in a deadly crash earlier this year into advocacy.
Take the O‘ahu Climate Action Plan survey to ensure bicyclists are represented in the City’s climate actions.
