The IL ABLE program is administered by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, where we believe that, with the right financial tools, people with disabilities can be empowered to live self-determined lives and achieve their dreams.
But don’t take our word for it.Please attend or listen in at the May 1, IL ABLE breakout session “Me and My IL ABLE Account: Self-Advocates’ Perspectives” from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Self-advocates and IL ABLE Account Owners – including Tom - will share their personal stories about how they are achieving a better life experience with their IL ABLE Accounts.
And, if you attend the Conference in-person, remember to stop by the IL ABLE table where Illinois Treasurer’s Office staff will be available in-person both days to answer questions and share information about IL ABLE.
IL ABLE Accounts can be an important tool in the disability financial planning toolbox. They make it possible for eligible people with disabilities and their families to save and invest their money for expenses related to living with a disability while maintaining federal benefits. IL ABLE Accounts can stand alone or compliment a special needs trust.

Let’s supportREV UP Illinois/Going Home Coalition member Da Wen Mei who is participating on this national panel!
At this AAPD National Community Event, you will hear from disabled grassroots activists fighting for voting access for the disability community nationwide. REV UP’s mission is to build the power of the disability vote through increasing civic engagement in the disability community and improving the accessibility of elections.
Moderating this discussion is REV UP Coalitions Coordinator, Alexia Kemerling, who will be joined by three disability advocates from around the country: Amie Jean, Da Wen Mei, and Jon McGovern.
Earlier this April, The Arc of Illinois met with AAPD’s President and CEO, Maria Town and was been awarded the REV UP Illinois designation through The American Association for People with Disabilities. We are mission driven and creating a coalition of individuals and organizations who want to get the word out about the importance of voting!!! We can support you or your organization by helping you or your participants to register to vote, doing a video interview of your voter registration story or stories of inaccessibility at polling places, through informational webinars, in-person events or facilitating your creating a unique voting project to share with others across Illinois.
We are interested in what voting means to you!
Let us know if you would like to be a part of the REV UP Illinois kick-off meeting!!!
