THE PICTURE TAKER TO TELL ABOUT "A FAN'S JOURNEY"
Sunday, February 25, 2:00 PM - Royersford VFW, 730 S. Fourth Ave.
Joe Evans, “The Picture Taker,” will present a special program on his journey as a professional photographer, culminating in the coffee table-size book, “A Fan’s Journey to a World Series Championship”.Joe’s program on Feb. 25 is scheduled to coincide with the start of Spring Training games, occurring the day after the first Phillies game in Clearwater, Florida.
A charter member of the historical society, Joe started his life-long passion of taking pictures when he worked for the Reporter of the Spring-Ford Area covering high school sports and other local events.Coupled with a job that was minutes from the Reading Phillies’ stadium, Joe’s passion soon turned to professional sports.
Come out and hear about Joe’s journey, including the challenges, pitfalls, set-backs and ultimate triumphs of self-publishing his book. Joe will also have prints of his photos available for sale, many of which are autographed, to benefit the society’s Farmhouse Porch Fund. You won’t want to miss this program!

A WHOLE LOT OF SHAKIN'
Okay, there’s probably more “movin’” than “shakin’” going on at the museum! We’re going through a major transformation of displays and exhibits that is affecting every room in both the Farmhouse and Gallery. It’s an exciting time, but it’s also a major upheaval. It is therefore necessary for us to continue to be closed to the public through the end of February. While everything won’t be accomplished by then, a majority will, and we’ll be excited to share the changes!
Coupled with the re-opening will be an exhibit about photography, featuring the work of Horace Heistand, Harold Amster, and Joe Evans. The museum will re-open on Sunday, March 3, 1:00-3:00 PM, and subsequent Sundays, as well as Wednesdays from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM. (And also by appointment.)
