We're turning 40 this year...and honestly, we think we're aging pretty well.
What's our secret?
A healthy dose of generosity.
Thousands of amazing supporters.
Incredible teachers.
Curious students.
And one community that never stops showing up.
No expensive skincare. No miracle supplements. Just forty years of people investing in kids.
Over the coming year, we'll celebrate the people, moments, and milestones that have shaped the Foundation since 1986—and we'd love for you to celebrate with us.
Because while we're proud of our first 40 years, we're even more excited about the next 40. We have more students to inspire, more teachers to support, and more lives to change.
Happy Birthday to us...and thank you for making it possible.
What a fantastic Fourth of July celebration! We loved marching alongside Foundation supporters in the Lake Oswego July 4th Parade and showcasing the community's commitment to our students and teachers.

We're so proud of all you've accomplished and can't wait to see what comes next.

“Without the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation, our children would not have the educators we do have. Without the Foundation, we would be lacking,” says donor and parent Maxine Walkenhorst.
Maxine and her husband, Christian, have been dedicated supporters of the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation since 2018. Together, they are the proud parents of three Lake Oswego students—two graduates and a rising 10th grader at Lakeridge High School—and have experienced firsthand the impact that exceptional teachers have on their children's education.
In addition to their generous philanthropy, Maxine has given countless hours of volunteer leadership to the Foundation, serving on the Board of Directors and as Board President during the 2023–24 school year. Christian, a partner at Ernst & Young, has also been a strong advocate for investing in public education and creating opportunities for every student.
