UUMFE's Acting Director, Rev. Lauren Levwood, and our team of UUMFE Movement Chaplains, are working alongside UUMFE Movement Chaplain Intern Chelsea to co-facilitate a weekly drop-in Climate Grief Support Group on Fridays from 1-2pm ET/10-11am PT over Zoom.
If you are concerned about the state of our world, worry about how current events are intersecting with climate disturbance, are a parent or grandparent concerned about the coming generations, or a young adult with anxiety about the future of our living world, this Climate Grief Support Group will provide a space for you to process your experiences with others in a ritualized, trauma-informed, and mindful way. We recommend you bring a stone or similar grounding object for our time together.
We will meet on Fridays from 1-2pm ET/10-11am PT over Zoom.
Our sixth discussion will take place on the evening of March 31st, and will focus on the book's next section, “Changing the Rules”. You only need to register once to attend all remaining sessions. Click here to print a poster for your congregation’s bulletin board.
Welcoming Spring – Letter from Rev. Lauren Levwood
"As we move towards the Spring Equinox, often called Ostara, may we cherish these final weeks of winter and the energy of balance that it inspires. Depending on where you live, there might be a few more cold days ahead before Spring is fully here. While sunnier days summon us outdoors, running towards Spring, let us also appreciate the lingering cold as Winter waves her final goodbye."
My name is Chelsea McCoy and I am serving as UUMFE’s movement chaplain intern for the next few months! Movement chaplaincy is an opportunity for me to provide spiritual support, presence, and guidance pertaining to anything social justice oriented. Experiencing climate anxiety? I can support with that. Worrying about the state of the world adding weight to your shoulders? I can support with that. Want to increase your understanding and awareness of different social justice issues? I can support with that too!
This Earth Month, give green! Whether your congregation uses our Earth Day worship materials or you are personally passionate about our programming, we are grateful for your generosity.

UUMFE is Hiring a Fundraiser
The Fundraising Contractor is a part-time position, and of limited duration. UUMFE anticipates a three or four month contract for this position. The Contractor will co-develop a fundraising plan with the Board and implement the plan within four months.
Do you have finance experience and a passion for climate justice?
UUMFE is looking for a Treasurer. This is a Board-level volunteer role requiring about 10 hours per month. Ideally this person will have finance experience in a small business or non-profit and can explain financial opportunities and issues to the Board and the ED in a clear manner, as well as work with our part-time paid bookkeeper. Please email current Treasurer at treasurer@uumfe.org.
This section includes contributions from organizations who are partners with UUMFE in the intersectional work of climate justice in Unitarian Universalism or interfaith work, such as the UU Climate Justice Coalition.

Moving Everyone: Rural-Urban Organizing for Transit
March 12, 2026 5 PT • 6 MT • 7 CT • 8 ET
We welcome Connor Descheemaker of Transit for all PA! to our Webinar series this month. He says: "We always say transit exists in all 67 counties across Pennsylvania, but what does that really mean, and who does it represent? Data shows us that there are just as high a percentage of non-drivers in our most rural communities as in our most urban, and those in power need to serve those riders with reliable, accessible service for work, healthcare and communities. Right now, Transit For All PA is base-building in small cities to identify what service looks like, and what it should look like. Learn how they are reaching workers and riders to identify how to make transit better."
The initiative also includes a global engagement component, allowing supporters to participate from anywhere. Through Facebook Live events, Zoom gatherings, and daily updates from the field, participants will hear directly from local community members, receive bird and patrol reports, explore spiritual and ethical practices connected to solidarity, and learn ways to take meaningful action.
Those interested in supporting or participating are encouraged to fill out the Project Interest Form.

Responsible AI Use as Climate Advocates: Is it Possible?
The use of AI is a highly contentious topic in the climate movement. Some of us are deeply concerned about the climate, water, and labor impacts of this growing technology. Some of us are excited about the opportunities to do more good work with our limited resources. Most of us are somewhere in the middle.
To address these questions, the Climate Advocacy Lab is partnering with Ryann Miller of Spark & Signal and Valerie Ehrlich of Mission Bloom to host a series of six trainings to help climate advocacy organizations move from AI anxiety and ad-hoc use, to building a shared organizational understanding, guide clear decision-making, and implement responsible experimentation.
In this first training, we’ll be focusing on the key question: What are the real climate and environmental implications of AI, and how can climate organizations think about responsible use?
