This month, we would like to start introducing you to the Friends of Valle de Oro board members. We will start with our president, Forest Graber.
Trained as an organic chemist, Forest worked in industry for over 25 years and retired to Albuquerque in 2012. He has always been passionate about educating young people. As part of a 3-person multi-discipline team, he worked to develop and present a hands-on science enrichment program for fourth grade students in the Chicago Public School System. He has had a lifelong interest in nature and our environment. He served on the board of directors of the Friends of Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge prior to joining the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge in 2023. He also enjoys gardening, camping, and wildlife photography.
