State Senator Carrie Buck

Carrie Buck is a Nevada State Senator, award-winning educator, and conservative leader dedicated to restoring the American Dream for Nevada families. Raised on a small farm, Carrie learned the values of faith, hard work, personal responsibility, and service while helping her family in the fields and selling sweet corn door to door.

After moving to Nevada, Carrie began her career as a fifth-grade teacher in North Las Vegas. She later became a principal, transforming one of the state’s lowest-performing schools into one of its highest achievers and earning the prestigious Milken Educator Award. Carrie went on to help expand Pinecrest Academy from a single struggling campus into a network of top-rated charter schools serving thousands of students and families across Southern Nevada.

Seeing firsthand how government decisions affects classrooms and communities inspired Carrie to seek public office. She successfully flipped a Democrat-held district and has become a leading voice in the State Senate for parents’ rights, educational excellence, public safety, and fiscal responsibility.

Carrie is running for Congress to bring proven leadership and real-world experience to Washington. Her priorities include securing the border, supporting law enforcement, protecting taxpayers, preserving parental choice in education, and creating greater opportunity for every Nevada family. Carrie and her husband Eric, a retired Deputy Chief of Police, are proud small-business owners and parents of four sons, including a Green Beret Army Ranger and combat medic.

Longtime Nevadan Cody Whipple

Cody Whipple is a fourth-generation Nevadan, small business owner, and lifelong rancher committed to delivering results for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.

Raised in rural Hiko, Cody grew up on his family’s ranch, learning the importance of hard work, resilience, determination, and community service from a very young age, especially after the early loss of his father to cancer, one of many victims of Nevada’s above-ground nuclear tests.

A Virginia Tech graduate and former Division I Football athlete, Cody returned home with his wife Dana to raise their three daughters and build their careers.

For over 25 years, he has operated Nevada’s first digital two-way communication network, supporting first responders, school districts, construction companies, and businesses across Southern Nevada, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, and California. He also manages his family ranch, preserving Nevada’s ranching heritage.

Cody understands the challenges facing both rural and suburban Nevadans because he’s lived them. He is a strong advocate for school choice, career and technical education, and expanding youth sports opportunities. A lifelong sportsman and conservationist, he supports Second Amendment rights and youth firearm safety and outdoor programs.

Cody is running for Congress to bring real-world experience to Washington. His priorities include lowering the cost of living, supporting small businesses, improving public safety, and empowering parents in education decisions.

President's Message from Pauline Ng Lee, Esq.

Are we suffering from Political Burnout?

The June Primary results gave us a hard look at the number of registered voters who actually voted in this election.  According to the Secretary of State, only 18.29% of active registered voters in Clark County actually turned out!  Statewide, only 21.82 % of registered voters submitted a ballot via mail or in person!  Our State has voters who are tuned out of politics.  Is lack of enthusiasm only impacting Nevada?  Does this impact Nevada because we do not have any races for US Senate? According to The Midterm Project, 22 states reported an average turnout of 26%, that is still 5% higher than Nevada's turnout rate in July 2026.

What is the reason for this low turnout?  Have Nevadans decided they they don't want to vote or are they indifferent?

The irony is that as one of the smaller states in the nation, Nevada has a history of razor-thin races:

Some of these races are the closest in all U.S. history!

2009 Las Vegas City Council Ward 4 - 0.16% margin. Stavros Anthony (R) won his race against Glenn Trowbridge by 10 votes! Vote totals: 3,309 v. 3299

2020 Clark County Commission C - 0.01% Ross Miller (D) won his race against Stavros Anthony (R) by 15 votes! Vote Totals: 76,586 v. 76,576

2024 Assembly 12 - 0.88% Margin. Max Carter (D) won his race against Nancy Roecker (R) by 277 votes! Vote Totals: 15,758 v. 15,481

1964 NV Senate Race - 0.40% Margin. Howard Cannon (D) won his race against Paul Laxalt (R) by 48 votes! Vote totals: 67,336 vs. 67,288

1998 NV Senate Race - 0.90% Margin. Harry Reid (D) won his race against John Ensign (R) by 401 votes! Vote totals: 208,621 vs. 208,220

1974 NV Senate Race - .037% point margin. Paul Laxalt (R) won his race against Harry Reid (D) by 624 votes!  Vote Totals: 79,605 v. 78,981

So when your family member, friend, work colleague or neighbor thinks their vote won’t make a difference, remind them that it actually does in Nevada.

Relentless social media is making us desensitized to issues around us, including political issues. It becomes easy to tune it all out when outlandish headlines occupy our news sources.  Even concerned citizens may begin to lose interest over time.  However, be sure to RESIST!!  Resist becoming apathetic and uninterested.  Take the time to research the candidates and engage the candidates in policy discussions!  Join us at our monthly luncheons to engage and become informed and patriotic voters!  See you at the next luncheon on August 4.
