Los residentes hispanohablantes del norte de Manhattan y el oeste del Bronx están invitados a registrarse para nuestro Reto Latino de 14 días comiendo a base de plantas, que se centra en desarrollar la resiliencia de la comunidad latina. Esta experiencia de empoderamiento de la salud te ayudará a comprender la conexión entre los alimentos y las enfermedades crónicas y a obtener el apoyo para dar un paso hacia la salud durante toda la vida.

Inauguración virtual: Martes 1 de Junio a las 6:30 PM
 
Los 14 días durarán desde el Jueves 3 de Junio hasta el Miércoles 16 de Junio con sesiones educativas virtuales, educación culinaria latina, recursos para preparar la comida, apoyo y entrenamiento de un mentor, y un recorrido por el mercado de agricultores al aire libre en el Bronx.

PPMNY se complace en ofrecer este programa a los participantes elegibles de forma gratuita, gracias al apoyo de CHALK / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital y el Centro de Estudios en Nutrición de T. Spanish-speaking residents of Northern Manhattan and the West Bronx are invited to register for our free 14-Day Plant Powered Jumpstart for Latinx Communal Resilience. This health empowerment experience will help you understand the connection between food and chronic disease and get the support to take a bold step toward lifelong health.

Virtual kickoff event: Tuesday, June 1, 6:30 PM

The 14 days run from Thursday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 16 with virtual educational sessions, culinary demonstrations emphasizing Latinx culture and cuisine, meal planning resources, peer mentorship, and a trip to a Bronx farmer's market.   

Registration closes Sunday, May 23

PPMNY is pleased to offer this jumpstart to eligible participants for free, thanks to funding from CHALK/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. PPMNY is honored to be a grant recipient of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies’ Community Grant Program. Read the press release here.

Empowering NYC’s Latinx Community for Plant-Based Health Resilience

Learn how our work with the Latinx community has evolved since 2019, and how the positive health outcomes of our previous jumpstart programs led us to create the upcoming Plant Powered Jumpstart for Latinx Communal Resilience with the support of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies’ Community Grant and CHALK/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Crowdfunding Campaign Supporting PPMNY Nutrition Empowerment
of Older Adults

We are honored to be a recipient of a 2021 Solution Grant awarded by the Livestrong Foundation as part of their mission to fund solutions that address gaps in cancer care. The Solutions Grant allows us to offer the award-winning Food for Life nutrition curriculum to elderly cancer survivors of color and those seeking to reduce cancer risk. But we need your help to fully fund the program! Donate through our Livestrong crowdfunding page to give more seniors access to educational resources and simple recipes, lifestyle skills, peer support, and mentorship to make daily food choices that dramatically reduce their risk of cancer and its recurrence.
