Educator Program Update
August 2025
Welcome Back, Educators!
As the 2025–2026 school year begins, we want to acknowledge everything you bring to your students, your buildings, and your communities. At 1N5, we believe that educator wellness and student well-being go hand in hand. This year, we remain committed to offering tools, training, and timely resources to support you, your colleagues, and your students!
Stu comes to us with a stong background in education, coaching, and leadership, having spent the last three years working at Woodward High School and over a decade of coaching basketball. Stu brings a deep love for youth engagement and building meaningful connections that make an impact.
Stacey joins the 1N5 team with over a decade of classroom experience and a heartfelt passion for mental health education. A high school English teacher turned mental health advocate, she brings creativity, empathy, and a strong belief in the power of words to heal and inspire.
We can't wait for you to meet Stu and Stacey soon!
New Training Announcement: Clicks & Consequences: Navigating the Impact of Social Media on Mental Health
This engaging session for parents, caregivers, and educators - presented by 1N5 staff - explores how social media impacts youth mental health, brain development, and emotional well-being. This 1-hour session helps adults recognize signs of digital distress, promote healthier online habits, and use tech as a tool for connection - not comparison. To learn more, reach out to your School Program Manager or email programs@1N5.org.

This year’s theme is Let’s Play, and we’re celebrating YOU with games, goodies, and giveaways that spark fun, connection, and community. Come recharge with fellow school staff, grab a drink, and kick off the new school year on a fun, playful note!
Our biggest event of the year is quickly approaching! The Warrior Run is a family-oriented fundraiser that benefits school and community mental health programs. Make it a night - enjoy a beautiful setting, a scenic run/walk through Mariemont, great food, music, and carnival-style kids games. Don’t miss the fun! Consider forming a school team or encouraging students to create a team. Funds raised directly support evidence-informed mental health education in our region.
Our free, virtual, evidence-based QPR (Question. Persuade. Refer.) trainings continue this fall. This life-saving framework teaches participants how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, start a conversation, and connect someone to help. Ideal for educators, parents, coaches, and school staff—please share widely with your community.
Want to host a private training just for your school or organization? Contact your School Program Manager or email programs@1N5.org.

What Happens When You Call 988?
Many educators know that 988 is the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline - but students, families, or even you may not know what actually happens when someone reaches out. When you call, text, or chat with 988, a trained professional will respond, listen without judgment, and offer support and resources. The goal is to help the person feel safer and more in control - most situations are resolved over the phone, without involving emergency services.
These conversations are confidential, and callers can remain anonymous if they choose. 988 staff won’t share information without permission unless there’s an immediate risk of harm and it’s necessary to help keep someone safe. Sharing this with students and families can reduce fear, build trust, and help break the stigma around asking for help.
