To celebrate our 50th anniversary, Hawai‘i Bicycling League set a goal to raise $500,000 in new gifts, pledges, and grants. Thanks to an amazing community of individual supporters, businesses, foundations and key public partners we surpassed the goal and raised $511,250.
HBL’s Annual Benefit Dinner has a new name and a renewed sense of celebration: Pedal Pāʻina debuts on March 6th, bringing together our community for an evening of great food, meaningful connection, and support for a safer, more bikeable Hawai‘i. 2026 Hale‘iwa Metric Century
Registration is officially open for the John B. Kelley Hale‘iwa Metric Century!Taking place on Sunday, April 26th, this isone of Hawai‘i’s most scenic and beloved rides. Set against the iconic North Shore, this signature event offers cyclists a memorable day of riding, community, and aloha while supporting Hawai‘i Bicycling League’s work to make our streets safer for everyone. Time Trials & O‘ahu Hill Climb Challenge
In 2026, HBL is expanding its cycling lineup by hostingtwo Time Trials on 2/1/26 and 5/10/26, offering riders opportunities to test their speed and skill. We are also proud to support the O‘ahu Hill Climb Challenge, bringing back a favorite test of strength, strategy, and determination. Cycling Shimanami 2026
The Ehime Prefecture invites HBL members to participate in the Cycling Shimanami event in October 2026! Ride across Japan’s inland sea on car-free expressways! A unique and bucket-list cyclist event! HBL 2026 Board Election Results
The 2026 HBL Board Election is complete. HBL welcomes Atomman Kimm, Julia Parsons, David Sherman, and Gregg Yates to our Board of Directors. We also share a deep mahalo for the HBL Board Members whose terms expired at the end of 2025, including Bob Bengston, Norb Buelsing, Pattie Dunn, and Kyle Paredes.

The 2026 Hawai‘i Legislative Session will begin on Wednesday January 21st and is expected to conclude on May 8th. Mountain Bike Racing is back to Kauai! MTB Kauaihas partnered with Aina Alliance and Hawaiian Homelands to bring organized racing back to Anahola, Kauai at the Anahola Epic 2026on February 7th. This isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of our Aina and a commitment to stewardship. It's is a cross-country style 8 or 15-mile course that tests your lungs, your tech skills, and your grit.
SAVE THE DATE! Saturday, April 11, 2026 – The KVIBEKalihi Ahupuaʻa Ride is an 8-mile community ride from mauka to makai, featuring several cultural and historical “story stops” throughout the Kalihi ahupuaʻa. Registration opens February 3. For more information, click here.
