Partnering with Nelson Atkins Art

What do you get when you mix opportunities to be creative with enthusiastic MSAC members? An art party!

MSAC's partnership with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art brings unique, process-oriented art projects to our program. The Nelson's teaching artists come to MSAC to lead our members in exploring their creativity through a variety of art projects.

"The focus is on the creative process," says Nelson-Atkins teaching artist Lisa Ernst. She loves sharing the joy she finds in art with others. "We turn every project into an art party!"

Our members benefit from being able to express themselves, try new things and simply have fun making art. Along the way, they build confidence and experience a sense of accomplishment. Recent projects have included watercolor painting, stamped ink designs and ceramic clocks. MSAC members also enjoyed a field trip to the Nelson which included a tour and a special art project.

We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Nelson-Atkins and for the talented teaching artists who inspire our members to explore, imagine and create. Together, we are making art accessible, engaging and enjoyable for people living with progressed MS.
