Dear Friends of MTF,

Our first quarter has been great! It's hard to believe it's April! The Pop Up Prom Shoppe was amazing! Our weekly service requests are increasing and we anticipate even more in the coming months for summer camp fun!

Our new classroom grant pilot program launched in February. We received 18 thoughtful and inspiring grant requests from the 11th grade teachers at Waukegan High School. We will share more next month, when the grants are awarded. Waukegan High School does not have a foundation that supports their teachers in enriching the learning in their classrooms. MTF is thrilled to be supporting WHS through this new classroom enrichment program.

We couldn't do it without you!

Thanks to all that made the Pop Up Prom Shoppe a huge success!
A heartfelt thank you to our prom partners, our generous sponsors and wonderful volunteers!

After patiently waiting for 3 years, Mothers Trust Foundation enthusiastically hosted our 2nd Pop Up Prom Shoppe March 11-13! This free-dress giveaway was a wonderful collaboration between Mothers Trust Foundation, Zengeler Cleaners, College of Lake County and University Center of Lake County.

This event truly is more than just a dress! On Friday morning, March 11, over 100 students experienced a college visit day and dress shopping. On Friday evening, event sponsors and VIPs were treated to a reception catered by the culinary students at the Lake County Tech Campus and a sneak peek into the showroom. Over 450 Lake County high school students attended over the weekend and over 1,200 dresses were given away! Thanks to the more than 400 volunteers that gave their time as personal shoppers and in other roles to make this a heartwarming, feel-good experience for all! In addition, Smith’s Men’s Store in Lake Forest is graciously partnering with MTF to provide suits for prom to the guys in need.

Service Meetings are back in person!
Beginning this Wednesday, April 13 at 9:30 a.m., we will meet in person to discuss and approve the weekly service requests. Our Zoom option will be available to all that aren't yet ready to meet in person or prefer to join us via Zoom. After over 2 years of not being together, we look forward to seeing our wonderful committee in person for service and friendship! All are welcome in person or via Zoom. "Thank you, Mothers Trust Foundation, for touching the life of a family in need! Through the generosity of a grant issued by MTF, a family I work with was able to obtain a kitchen table and chairs, beds and bedding. Prior to the grant, the family was unable to eat meals together and a child was sleeping in a pack and play that he had long outgrown. They can now enjoy meals together and get quality, safe sleep. Thank you so much for touching and changing their lives!"

(MTF provided a voucher to our partner, Upscale Rummage, to pick out a table and chairs free of charge and MTF purchased a bed and bedding for the child.)

Your support funds dance, yoga and transportation costs and sets a Highland Park family on a healthy path!

A student with intellectual disabilities gets support through the TrueNorth Cooperative Transition Site in Highland Park. She lives with her mother and her 3 younger siblings, two of which have Autism.  Her counselor requests a dance and yoga class at the North Suburban YMCA. They don’t own a car and have to pay for transportation to medical appointments for the children.  MTF pays the fee for the classes and provides an Uber gift card for the family.

Our Mission Mothers Trust Foundation provides immediate assistance during times of crisis to low-income children living in Lake County, Illinois. The Foundation’s goal is to provide hope, build confidence and make a positive difference in a young person’s life.
