1. ¿Cuáles son los síntomas comunes de la demencia? La demencia es más que el olvido ocasional. Los signos comunes incluyen pérdida de la memoria a corto plazo, dificultad para realizar tareas familiares, confusión sobre el tiempo o el lugar, cambios en la higiene personal y problemas para calcular distancias. 6. ¿Cómo ayuda la terapia física a una persona con demencia? La terapia física mejora el equilibrio y la fuerza, reduciendo el riesgo de caídas. Las caídas a menudo desencadenan un deterioro rápido, por lo que mantener la movilidad es fundamental.
7. ¿Cómo debo responder a los comportamientos relacionados con la demencia? Los comportamientos suelen indicar necesidades no satisfechas. Siempre descarta primero problemas médicos como dolor, infección o malestar. Observa las señales no verbales y aborda la causa subyacente en lugar del comportamiento en sí.

Las estafas románticas siguen rompiendo corazones y cuentas bancarias
El BBB está observando un aumento preocupante en los reportes de estafas románticas, y 2025 ha puesto en evidencia cuán avanzados y costosos se han vuelto estos esquemas.
En todo Estados Unidos, las víctimas están perdiendo miles de dólares — y en algunos casos, todos sus ahorros de vida. En Colorado, un hombre reportó haber perdido más de $100,000 tras creer que mantenía una relación en línea genuina. En Texas, una pareja del área de Houston fue sentenciada a prisión por operar estafas románticas “despiadadas” que robaron más de $3 millones a víctimas en todo el país.
Estas estafas también forman parte de un problema global. Investigaciones internacionales han descubierto redes organizadas acusadas de robar más de $100 millones en todo el mundo, utilizando con frecuencia fotos robadas, perfiles falsos y mensajes generados por inteligencia artificial para parecer reales.
Bancos y reguladores advierten que las estafas románticas están cada vez más vinculadas a criptomonedas y esquemas de inversión falsos, a veces llamados estafas de “engorde del cerdo” (pig-butchering). Las víctimas incluyen desde jóvenes profesionales hasta personas jubiladas.
