This past weekend, we had the joy of celebrating the incredible volunteers who bring our Founder's vision to life each month.

For the second year in a row, our Volunteer Appreciation Event was part of our Making a Difference Is a Piece of Cake campaign—because their support truly takes the cake! From bakers and bin preppers to party planners, gift wrappers, deliverers, hosts, wish list specialists, our Extraordinary Readers team, and our board of directors—our amazing volunteers are the heart of it all.

While we were excited to host the Cake Walk on Saturday, the weather had other plans (or so we thought). Though the outdoor walk was canceled due to a forecast for rain that never came, we were thrilled to welcome registrants indoors as part of our celebration. From a game of musical cakes to cupcake decorating and cake tasting amongst other activities, the fun didn’t miss a beat.

Our Making a Difference Is a Piece of Cake campaign runs through April with a goal of raising $5,000—and we’re already halfway there! Every donation enters you into our cake giveaway (worth up to $250). If you’ve already donated or registered for the Cake Walk, your name is already in the (cake 😉) mix!
