PRC Announces 2026 Collection Event Schedule for Western PA 

PRC is excited to announce its schedule of 2026 collections in western Pennsylvania.  Take advantage of these opportunities to recycle and safely manage a wide variety of materials ranging from computers and TVs to tires, household chemicals, smoke detectors and more.

Join PRC this spring, summer and fall as we work together to protect the environment by responsibly stewarding tons of materials.

Household Chemical Collections

At six events in western Pennsylvania, individuals can dispose of automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints, and other chemicals. 
A $20 fee covers disposal of every 10 gallons/50 pounds of material per vehicle (additional fee for larger loads).

The 2026 PRC household chemical collection campaign is sponsored by ALCOSAN, Allegheny County Health Department, Beaver County Commissioners, Cambria County Solid Waste Authority, Fayette County Commissioners, Fayette County Conservation District, Colcom Foundation, Pennsylvania American Water, and PA Department of Environmental Protection in partnership with Allegheny County Parks Department, Bradys Run Park Recycling Center, Central Cambria School District, Fayette County Recycling Convenience Center, 90.5 WESA and 91.3 WYEP.

June 6 Cambria County -- Central Cambria High School, Ebensburg
June 13 Fayette County -- Recycling Center
Aug. 15 Allegheny County -- Boyce Park Ski Lodge
Sept. 19 Allegheny County -- South Park Wave Pool
Oct. 3 Beaver County -- Bradys Run Park Recycling Center

2026 Hard-to-Recycle Collection Events 

At four hard-to-recycle events in western Pennsylvania, individuals can pay a $5 participant fee to drop off unlimited phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc.), Styrofoam blocks, and video game consoles/DVD players. 

FOR A PER-ITEM FEE, individuals can drop off televisions and computer monitors, printers, fluorescent tubes, small Freon appliances, microwaves, tires (with and without rims), and electric lawn care tools.

The 2026 PRC hard-to-recycle collection campaign is sponsored by Allegheny County Health Department, Colcom Foundation, HF Sinclair, PA Department of Environmental Protection, Pennsylvania American Water, Quaker Valley Council of Governments, Sonneborn, LLC (Petrolia Plant), and Signs N’ At in partnership with Allegheny County Parks Department, Appliance Warehouse, 11 Cares, eLoop, LLC, Karns City Area School District, Liberty Tire, 90.5 WESA and 91.3 WYEP.
