5 Easy Style Tricks to Look Slimmer This Summer
1. Wear clothes with a defined waist. Think a dress with a belt, or an elastic waist gathered at the skinniest part of you. Trend alert: Try bright pants with a belt and a blouse tucked in, as shown here.
2. Sport heels.Instantly look thinner by wearing a slight heel to elongate your legs. We love an espadrille wedge during the summer months. Trend alert: Look for braided sandals, which are this season’s must have.
3. Never wear clothing that’s too tight. Enough said.
4. Add a long, flowing kimono shawl. Long, sweeping kimonos add length to your frame. Trend alert: Anything goes. If you love the color and pattern, wear it!
5. Choose vertical stripes. We all know that vertical stripes elongate our frame while horizontal stripes tend to make us look wider. Trend alert: You can't go wrong with a classic look, like the blue and white striped maxi dress above.

"During my appointment at Wings, I felt happy and excited. I was reminded of the feeling when my mom would prepare my clothes for my first day of school, but now it was Wings for Success who was taking that role, given that my mom is not with me. The appointment filled me with confidence, happiness, and motivation to reach my goals. My parents instilled in me the value and always knowing the importance of the word gratitude, and that is just how I feel for each and every one of you who make Wings for Success the organization that helps push and empower women and girls."
Our sixth annual Wine with Wings fundraiser exceeded expectations! There was a packed house at the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club and our supporters helped us raise over $40,000! Thank you to everyone who helped make this day such a success.
Updated Summer Donation Days
Due to the Fourth of July holiday weekend, the July donation day for both our Kennett and Exton locations has changed to July 9th. Our August donation day will be August 6th, which will be our last donation day until October (please note that we will not hold a donation day in September). Click on the button below to read about our current needs and sign up.
As I shared recently on my personal social media, I have been diagnosed with invasive bilateral breast cancer and will be undergoing a double mastectomy on my birthday, July 12th. A prognosis and treatment plan will be given after surgery, but I anticipate taking a leave of absence until Labor Day. I am blessed that we live in an area with incredible doctors and I will be having surgery at Main Line Health and working with oncology at Penn Medicine. As you all know, Wings has incredible volunteers, staff, and a supportive Board to help run things while I am away. I plan to be back on the dance floor with you for Wings and Wheels on October 14th and hope to see all of you there, too! I appreciate the prayers and good vibes.
Gratefully, Jill Laufenberg
