CTE Updates

CTE Month

State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly visited CTE programs across WI in February to celebrate CTE Month. In the CESA #1 region, she visited Grafton, New Berlin, and Germantown School Districts. (Read more)

CESA #1 wrapped up CTE Month by welcoming 145 students from districts in our Perkins Consortium to WCTC for Career Quest on February 28. During the event, students participated in hands-on activities to learn more about high demand, high wage career pathways in the Milwaukee region, heard from a student panel on dual enrollment, and explored high quality pathway elements on the regional maps.

The WI Career Readiness Summit is August 13-14, 2024 in WI Dells. Breakout sessions will focus on the elements of high quality career pathways, including the new CTE standards and business partner collaboration through Career-Based Learning Experiences.

M7 Updates

Economic Development Organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and K12 Education partners across the M7 Region are working hard to prepare for the deployment of INSPIRE.

We encourage your district to consider reaching out to your business and industry partners and educate them about the tool, its benefits and how to register as a participating organization. Share the INSPIRE M7 informational pamphlet with your community partners, support them through the onboarding process, or suggest they schedule a Q&A onboarding meeting with the CESA #1 Inspire Coordinator, Aaron White.

We are building momentum for this work in SE Wisconsin and your partnership, collaboration, and endorsement of the Inspire M7 tool is essential for our collective success.

All districts are strongly encouraged to record CBLEs across content areas using this tool to help us tell a more complete data story at the district, region and state levels.
