Students for LEAF welcomes International Rescue Committee

IRC at LEAF

Our youth summer program, Students for LEAF, hosted the International Rescue Committee (IRC) for a volunteer field trip with 12 young people who have recently migrated to the United States. The purpose of the field trip was to create community and give our guests an opportunity to connect to the land by starting microgreens, harvesting veggies and then making a healthy lunch together.

Breast Cancer Survivor Group Enjoys Farm-to-Table Dinner

We recently partnered with Washington Health to create an evening of community, healing and nourishment for their Breast Cancer Survivor Group. 14 women joined us to harvest tomatoes, cucumbers, lemons, and a variety of herbs, then prepared and enjoyed a delicious dinner of salad, tomato-mozzarella and lemon-and-herb-infused water, fresh from the Farm to the Table!

Inviting groups like the Washington Health Breast Cancer Survivor Group to LEAF is part of our focus on building community. Are you involved with a local community group? We’d love to collaborate with you. Please get in touch!
