THANK YOU for Honoring Earth Day with UUMFE (recording available)
We are so incredibly grateful for your presence at last month’s UUMFE Earth Day Worship Ritual. Without you—showing up, being present, dreaming and feeling and being with us—our beloved Earth care community would not exist, and worship rituals like this one would not happen.
If you missed our Earth Day worship service, “Sentience Surrounds Us,” or want to experience it again, the recording is now available. This ritual celebrated the profound truth that the natural world is alive with multiple intelligences—some beyond our human capabilities. We gathered in loving memory of Dr. Jane Goodall, who showed us what it means to listen to other beings.
Have you registered yet for the UUA General Assembly during June 14-21? We have created a workshop titled “Climate Justice Movement Chaplaincy Liturgies for this Moment.” The workshop will be pre-recorded to view on demand as well as offered via livestream during GA.
Climate Justice Movement Chaplaincy provides spiritual and emotional support for activists, advocates, or anyone impacted by climate disruption. In this workshop, UU Ministry for Earth's team of movement chaplains presents a simple liturgical framework that can be reproduced to support those who are experiencing climate despair or the aftermath of natural disasters.
We hope to connect with you at GA next month! More details to come soon.

UUMFE is looking for a Treasurer. This is a Board-level volunteer role requiring about 10 hours per month. Ideally this person will have finance experience in a small business or non-profit and can explain financial opportunities and issues to the Board and the ED in a clear manner, as well as work with our part-time paid bookkeeper. Please email current Treasurer at treasurer@uumfe.org.
UUMFE's Acting Director, Rev. Lauren Levwood, and our team of UUMFE Movement Chaplains, are working alongside UUMFE Movement Chaplain Intern Chelsea to co-facilitate a weekly drop-in Climate Grief Support Group on Fridays from 1-2pm ET/10-11am PT over Zoom.
This section includes contributions from organizations who are partners with UUMFE in the intersectional work of climate justice in Unitarian Universalism or interfaith work, such as the UU Climate Justice Coalition.
Diverse & Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries (DRUUMM)
Public Worship & Fundraising Gala We Ride at Dawn: Showing Up, No Matter What
UU Ministry for Earth is proud to sponsor Diverse & Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries (DRUUMM)’s annual Public Worship & Fundraising Gala, We Ride at Dawn: Showing Up, No Matter What, on May 14 at 8:00 PM Eastern.
This free, virtual, BIPOC-led worship service features Rev. Summer Albayati, a Muslim Unitarian Universalist minister, drummer, and national leader whose ministry weaves music, justice, and spiritual belonging, along with Rev. Verdis LeVar Robinson, an African American minister and musician whose work draws on Black sacred traditions to create worship that is participatory, healing, and alive with spirit.
In a time of deep uncertainty and fatigue, this service offers a powerful space for spiritual grounding, resilience, and collective care. It is also a vital moment to support DRUUMM’s multicultural ministry—sustaining leadership, connection, and culturally rooted spaces where Unitarian Universalists of Color can gather, heal, and thrive.
As the Earth, in Her flamboyant generosity, gives Life to all Her creatures, we too can nurture and the communities of which we are all a part. Let us take a day to seek nourishment for our hearts and restore our gratitude and easy generosity. May that ease come from celebration, reciprocity, the joy of self-expression, and a connection to the abundance of summer. Please click here to learn more about this event.
Our fee is a pay-from-the-heart scale of $40-$140 for the whole day. If you are able to support our policy of no one being turned away for lack of funds (NOTAFLOF), please give at the higher end of the scale. If you are drawn to the event, but not able to pay the fee, please Rev. Catharine at qira@thewayoftheriver.com
