Help Us Feed Hungry Kids This Summer!

For the past nine years, we’ve worked alongside St. Mary’s County Public Schools and the USDA to provide free lunches to children throughout the summer. Last year we served nearly 800 meals at Lexington Park Library, with some days reaching over 50 kids. Unfortunately, due to funding changes, the school system is no longer able to support the program this summer. We are accepting donations of non-perishable snacks at all Library locations starting today, May 8. We're also accepting monetary donations to go towards snacks and meals for kids this summer.

Summer Snacks: Healthy, hearty, individually packaged snacks that kids enjoy are preferred. If you are interested in donating perishable snacks (fruit, string cheese, etc.) please contact us at info@stmalib.org to coordinate donations.

Over Memorial Day Weekend, May 23–25, 2026, the St. Mary’s County Museum Division will offer special cruises to St. Clement’s Island State Park aboard North Star Charters. Visitors are invited to enjoy a scenic trip to the island, along with access to the historic Blackistone Lighthouse on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $7 per person for visitors of all ages and include a free tour of the Blackistone First cruise departs from the mainland at 10 a.m., and the final cruise departs from the mainland.
August 24–27, 2026, and September 14–17, 2026 Summer “Art Kids” Classes at St. Clement’s Island Museum- Pre registration is required, and the cost is $7 per child (ages 7–14 only). All materials are provided; however, participants are asked to bring a light snack.
