Please help Linda Norton and Phil Swanhorst go to the DNC as delegates!

Eau Claire County Democrats are very honored that two of our own—Linda Norton and Phil Swanhorst—have been elected as Delegates to represent Eau Claire County and Wisconsin at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.  However, delegates must pay their own hotel, food, and travel expenses, but the Eau Claire County Democratic Party is not permitted to contribute funds to send delegates to the DNC. Linda and Phil recently received a congratulatory letter which explained that their hotel rooms are assigned by the Democratic Party, but delegates must pay for those rooms themselves:  “Price: $559.73/ night (Set rate for all room types & includes breakfast + 17.4% tax). A minimum four-night stay (Aug 19-22) is required.” Linda and Phil must come up with $2240 each, just for the hotel.

Please help with Linda and Phil’s expenses. You can mail or drop off funds at the Democratic Resource Center at 440 Broadway St., Eau Claire, WI 54703. Checks can be made out to “Linda Norton” or “Phil Swanhorst.” They have agreed to share the donations.

Rural Youth Vote Workshop

Saturday, June 15th
Time: 1pm CT

Just 49% of young Americans ages 18-29 plan to vote in the 2024 presidential election with the majority of young voters in rural areas leaning blue. Democrats and Republicans alike both have their eyes on two voting blocks that have the power to swing battleground states in 2024; rural and young voters. In this workshop facilitated by the young organizers behind Keep Arizona Blue Students Coalition, a PAC dedicated to turning out GenZ voters for Democrats up and down the ballot, we will hear from young voters themselves what is needed to mobilize the youth vote on and off the campus.

*This workshop is open to all Contest Every Race grantees, candidates and allies.
