Throughout November 2021, Ujima members and the wider public will have the opportunity to learn about real estate development, review potential investment opportunities and properties, and generate a Real Estate Investment Plan for 2022. Join us for a month of workshops and discussions centering on the importance of land and real estate, for Black and Indigenous futures.
Programs include Real Estate for All in partnership with Co.Everything, Impact Investing: The Game with Boston Impact Initiative, and #BlackTrust Chuck Turner Arts & Lecture Series at Mass Black Espo.
Time: Wednesday, Nov 10th, 6PM EST | Location: Zoom Only
6:00PM-7:15PM - #Co-Learn:
Join Boston Impact Initiative and Boston Ujima Project for an experiential workshop playing with the Integrated Capital Cards that help match types of capital and transaction structures with startups, small businesses, and nonprofits contributing to building regenerative and equitable local economies. This is an educational offering in preparation for the creation of Ujima's 2022 Real Estate Investment Plan.
About our speakers:
Deborah Frieze is an author, entrepreneur, and social activist. Her award-winning book (co-authored with Meg Wheatley), Walk Out Walk On: A Learning Journey into Communities Daring to Live the Future Now, profiles pioneering leaders who walked out of organizations failing to contribute to the common good—and walked on to build resilient communities. She co-founded the Boston Impact Initiative in 2013 to help address inequities in access to capital and opportunity. Deborah is also the founder of the Old Oak Dojo, an urban learning center where neighbors gather to rediscover how to create healthy and resilient communities.
Henry Noël Jr. describes himself as A Passionate Champion of rigorous investment analysis coupled with purposeful attention to measurable, social, and environmental impact. He has over 20 years of experience evaluating investment opportunities, structuring securities, raising capital, and financing business growth. Henry is focused on the intersection of impact investing, economic justice, and building resilience in inner-city communities from the ground up.
Boston Impact Initiative invests in enterprises throughout Eastern Massachusetts that address the growing wealth gap and ecological challenges of our times.
