Metro Grant Cycle Open!
Metro Ministries is excited to announce the launch of our summer/fall grant cycle! This year's theme is Violence Prevention, and we are asking churches to connect with one or more churches in their respective communities on how they may work together to address one or more facets of violence. We invite all Central District United Methodist churches to consider how they might collaborate with schools.
Please visit our website for full details on this grant cycle, thoroughly read the Request for Proposal, review the timeline and consider the possibilities at your church. Then, we invite you to Apply by the September 1, 2023 deadline.
Please direct all questions regarding this grant cycle to metrogrants@gmail.com.
This Week's Metro Memory
Do you recognize anyone in this photo? Does anyone know when or where? Please share your answers and any memories you have of this occasion and/or of the folks in the picture.
Last week's photo contained several folks, and all but two have been identified. The second from the left is the late Margaret Craft, to her left is the late Julia Byerly; at the podium is Lisa Morris, and to her left is the late Sue Wolcott. Next to her is the late John Kanouse, next to him is Carolyn Kanouse, his wife. Next to Carolyn is Lois Prevost, with Rita Gaither-Gant at the far right. No one identified the first person on the left or the person partially visible behind Lisa.
Thank you to Marianne Nichols, Barbara King, Deanne Heidrich, Melanie Lannan and Jean Casmir-Hill for your responses and for sharing your memories of these individuals!
