Tom,

I've got great news. We've stopped genetically engineered salmon.

By “we”, I mean our precious anti-GMO movement, including all of you who participated in signing petitions, spreading the word, and choosing non-GMO organic food.

One of the driving forces that caused AquaBounty, the salmon maker, to shut its doors this week, was consumer power. Supermarkets and restaurants refused to buy their product. This proves a beautiful principle IRT has championed for two decades: Consumers are at the top of the food chain.

We have power!

This is not only a victory for our health, it's a victory for our oceans. In the article, GE Salmon? Are You Out of Your Minds?!

I describe how genetically engineered threatened to wipe out natural salmon. I also described AquaBounty’s horrible research and the potential health effects of eating their Frankenfish.

Here’s a more technical article of mine on why the science behind GM salmon and mosquitoes is horrifying.

And here’s an article about how GM salmon can mate with trout, yikes.

The company’s fail also sends a signal to entrepreneurs and investors. This is the latest in a long line of companies that boasted about some genetically engineered breakthrough and then went belly up.

Let’s celebrate this milestone together! And while we savor this victory, I’d like to ask for your support so we can keep these wins coming.

IRT is leading the charge against genetic engineering in food, animals, and beyond. Your donation helps us continue to educate, advocate, and take action on your behalf.

Together, we’ve already proven the power of our collective voice. With your help, we can stop even more dangerous GMO projects, protect our food, and secure a healthier future.

Thank you all so much for being part of this great movement and exerting our collective influence. It's a great victory we can all celebrate together.

Safe eating,

Jeffrey
