What a BLESSING to have the Cincinnati Bearcats Offensive Linemen volunteer in April. They brought fun energy, hard work and servants' hearts to the bistro. Captain and Center, Gavin Gerhardt, surprised a diner, Max Greene, a XHS freshman football player, with a signed Bearcats helmet. The Bearcats also signed and donated a football to One Bistro! Thank you, O-Line Bearcats, for generously giving back to your community!!

We also extend our heartfelt condolences to Jeremiah Kelly’s family and Cincinnati Bearcat teammates in his unexpected passing the Tuesday after volunteering. Jeremiah’s smile lit up the café all day. He will be greatly missed.

Gabriel Fragasse

Gabriel, a student at Wright State, is working on his degree in Organizational Leadership. As part of his Community Based Learning class, he volunteered with One Bistro to get some practical, hands-on experience related to running a non-profit. He was so impressed with our Biznistry® model, especially the emphasis on faith. "It is a credit to the Christian community in Xenia and Greene County," Gabriel said, "that One Bistro is a successful Community Cafe. There is a purpose for One Bistro here. Without the faith aspect, it couldn't do what it does, but faith allows it to flourish." Gabriel was so thankful to find a place to volunteer that aligned with his values and will be back to serve with us again soon!

Community Connections

Mrs. LeBrun's 1st grade class at Legacy Christian Academy adopted One Bistro Xenia as part of their "Adopt a Leader/Organization" project. They prayed for us faithfully all year! In April, these sweet kiddos came to visit the bistro and they also got to tour the hydroponic garden at Toward Independence, Inc., where all the bib lettuce for our salads is grown. What an incredible network and blessing to see these future leaders caring for their community!!

❔Frequently Asked Questions❔

What is the difference between a token and paying-it-forward at the register?

Each token is purchased for a $10 donation. Then, you may hand it off to someone else so they come to One Bistro and enjoy a complimentary meal.  A pay-it-forward donation is any amount you want to donate above your suggested meal price. All of our pay-it-forward donations go to provide complimentary meals to the community.

Do you have to go through the Volunteer Training to be a volunteer?

You do not; however, it is a great way to prepare you for your first time volunteering. Another option is to go to: www.onebistro.org/volunteer | scroll, click and review the Training Manual information | then click and complete the Volunteer Agreement.
