πΎ Springtime at DogPaw: Help Keep Our Parks Open & Thriving! π·
Spring is here, and that means more wagging tails, joyful zoomies, and off-leash adventures at our four DogPaw parks! As the sun shines brighter and more visitors enjoy the parks, we need your help in spreading an important message:
DogPaw is 100% community-funded. We receive zero taxpayer dollars—everything from dog waste removal to fencing repairs and park maintenance is paid for through memberships, donations, and business sponsors. Our annual budget runs between $60,000 to $75,000 every year!
We know that many people assume our parks are funded by the county or city, but they’re not! That’s why we’re asking every DogPaw supporter to help spread the word. When you’re at the park, let fellow park goers know that without community support, these off-leash parks wouldn’t exist.
DogPaw doesn’t just need your volunteer hours—we need your donations to keep the parks clean, safe, and open. Whether it's $5, $50, or $500, every contribution makes a difference for the dogs (and humans!) who rely on these spaces.
ππ Here’s how you can help: β Become a DogPaw Member – Your membership directly funds park maintenance. β Make a Donation – Every dollar helps keep the gates open! β Encourage Businesses to Sponsor – Know a pet-friendly business? Connect them with us! β Volunteer Your Time – We’re always looking for extra paws to help out.
π‘ Let’s make sure everyone who enjoys our parks knows how to keep them running! Together, we can ensure that our off-leash parks remain a safe and happy place for dogs and their people. πΎπΆ
Visit DogPaw’s website to donate, join, or learn more. Thank you for being part of this pawsome community! πΎβ€οΈ

May 2025
π Mark Your Calendar—GiveBIG is Back! πΎ
GiveBIG returns May 6-7, 2025, with early giving kicking off April 22! Last year, this statewide campaign raised $11.5 million for 1,518 nonprofits across Washington.
πΆ DogPaw is ready to make an impact! Thanks to our generous supporters, we raised $2,800 last year, which was matched by the LR Mitchner Philanthropic Fund, bringing our total to $4,800—enough to cover six months of poop bags for our parks!
Let’s make 2025 even bigger! Stay tuned for ways to give and spread the word to keep our off-leash parks clean, safe, and open for all. Our organization page is https://www.wagives.org/organization/Dogpaw to start the giving early! ππ
June 14 2025 DogPaw's Annual Vendor Event
We’re thrilled to announce that DogPaw’s Annual Vendor Event is returning on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Dakota Off-Leash Park in Pacific Community Park! ππΎ
Last year’s event was a huge success—and it was only our first time hosting it! With over 25 amazing vendors, a fantastic turnout, and countless wagging tails, we raised over $8,000 in business sponsors to support our parks. We also welcomed new members and partnered with community organizations like Clark County Sheriff, Vancouver Police Department, and Clark County Animal Control, who joined us to educate and connect with the public.
This year is shaping up to be even bigger and better—we already have 18 vendors signed up early! Don't miss this pawsome opportunity to showcase your business to hundreds of dog owners in our community.
None of this would be possible without our dedicated volunteer board, the support of Clark County Parks employees, and YOU—our incredible community of dog lovers. From pet supplies, vet services, merchandise, photography, grooming, boarding, and daycare and and everything in between, this event highlights what we can achieve together!
Want to get involved? We’re already hard at work planning this year’s event, and we’d love a helping paw! Whether you’re a vendor, sponsor, or volunteer, there’s a place for you. Reach out to us at volunteer@dogpawoffleashparks.org to learn how you can participate.
Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and get ready for a tail-wagging good time on June 14, 2025. Let’s make this year’s event even bigger and better!
July 2025
π Mark your calendars for July 2025—DogPaw’s Bingo Nights are making a triumphant return to Latte Da Coffeehouse & Wine Bar! ππΎ
Last year, with the incredible support of our dog-loving community, we raised an amazing $2,200 to help keep our parks safe, clean, and fun for everyone. ππ A huge shout-out to the fantastic staff at Latte Da, who went above and beyond to serve up great drinks, delicious food, and an unforgettable evening.
This year, we’re raising the stakes with even more fun, bigger prizes, and tail-wagging excitement! ππΆ Don't miss out! Stay tuned for details and get ready for a night of Bingo that gives back to our beloved parks! πΎββ¨
November 2025
π Santa is coming back for his third year in 2025! Each year, this event keeps growing—bigger, better, and even more festive! It has become a fantastic fundraiser, bringing in over $1,000 at each event to support our parks.
Don't miss the chance to snap a picture with Santa and make some holiday memories while supporting our off-leash parks! ππβ¨

If you’ve ever found a beautifully painted rock while visiting Ike Dog Park, chances are it was left by the one and only Sally Bond! A longtime Ike parkgoer, Sally is not only a dedicated DogPaw volunteer, but she also brings a special touch of creativity and generosity to our community.
From helping out at clean-up days and events to donating dog toys for our July Bingo Night giveaways, Sally’s kindness shines through in everything she does. Her painted rocks, hidden throughout the park, bring smiles to those who find them—whether they keep them as a treasure or re-hide them to continue the fun. It’s a small but meaningful way to build connections and spread joy among fellow parkgoers.
π Thank you, Sally, for being such a wonderful part of DogPaw! Our parks thrive because of caring community members like you. Next time you’re at Ike, keep an eye out for one of Sally’s rocks—and if you find one, be sure to share the fun! πΎπ¨π

Honoring Our Fallen K9 Heroes πΎπ
DogPaw’s four off-leash parks are named in memory of brave K9s who gave their lives in the line of duty.
πΎ K9 Dakota
(Vancouver PD) – Fatally shot in 2007 while tracking an armed suspect.
πΎ K9 Ike
(Vancouver PD) – Stabbed in 2015 while apprehending a wanted individual.
πΎ K9 Lucky
(Clark County Sheriff’s Office) – Shot in 1990 while tracking a robbery suspect.
πΎ K9 Kane
(Clark County Sheriff’s Office) – Stabbed in 2011 during a pursuit of armed suspects.
These courageous K9s protected and served our community, and we honor their legacy with gratitude. Their sacrifice reminds us of the dedication of all officers, past and present. ππΎ
Please avoid leaving valuables unattended in your vehicle. It only takes seconds for someone to break a window and take your belongings. Thank you for helping us keep our parks safe and secure for everyone to enjoy!
