Public Banking Month at
Ujima Recap
This month during #UjimaWednesdays we studied Public Banking! The series was designed to highlight the growing movement across the Commonwealth to bring a public bank to Massachusetts— Ujima's flagship issue, in partnership with MA Public Banking, Black Economic Council of MA (BECMA), Black Mass Coalition (coalition members include, Ujima Boston, BECMA, North American Indian Center of Boston, King Boston, Young Abolitionists), and more.
The Massachusetts Public Bank will be a financially sustainable institution designed to address the needs of small businesses, community development institutions, municipalities, land trusts, and local agriculture. It will work cooperatively, not competitively, with Massachusetts community banks.
