Saving Lives With SFA

From experiencing my first stroke at just 15 months old to facing the challenges of complex partial seizures throughout childhood, my journey with epilepsy has been one of remarkable resilience and faith. After being diagnosed at age 8 and experiencing a life-changing grand mal seizure at 12, I underwent brain surgery in 2009 at the age of 14 – a procedure through which God worked miraculously. The surgery, which removed my right temporal lobe and hippocampus, marked the beginning of a new chapter as God's healing power transformed my life. Not only have I remained seizure-free since that pivotal day in June 2009, but I recently celebrated another milestone: becoming medication-free in November 2023. My dedication to the epilepsy community shines through my decade-long
involvement with the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware, where I have served in various leadership roles, including Board Secretary. Today, alongside my husband Isaac, God has called us to an even greater purpose as we serve as missionaries in Nigeria, Africa, where I continue to share my testimony of His healing power and show others that with faith, challenges can become stepping stones to inspiring others around the world.
Join the EFDE in wishing a very Happy Birthday to all celebrating a MarchBirthday!
