September 1 - Arts & Cultural Organizing Member Team: This quarter, the Arts and Cultural Organizing Micro-learning Pod is led by Ujima member and artist Dzidor. In this session, creators will be answering questions, drafting narratives around their own work, and writing their own Creative Manifesto.
As we move into a different stage of the ongoing pandemic, some events organizers are choosing to create hybrid or in-person events. We encourage our members and the public to exercise caution and best judgment that takes into account their personal status as well as community care.
"I can provide great High School and College level Chemistry, Biology, and Anatomy Physiology tutoring. I am a Professor at UMass and I positively love teaching." Never expires.

Ujima Fund Update
The Ujima Fund set a goal of raising $5 million by 2021, comprised of $4.5 million of multi-tiered investment capital and $500,000 of grant capital. Ujima is proud to announce that we are just $5,000 away from our $4.5 million investment capital goal.
In response to this milestone, we have temporarily disabled investments. Ujima members and supporters can still contribute to the Ujima Fund by donating to the Imani pool here.
Stay tuned for more details on a special campaign for the remaining $5,000, as well as our next Investor Update due in Fall 2021.

Ujima Neighborhood Economics Study Group
We are excited that the Ujima Neighborhood Economics Study Group is underway, continuing to explore the feasibility of projects that address our community-wide needs. The group will meet every second Wednesday, and the next meeting is Wednesday, September 8, 2021. This study group is co-coordinated by Ujima members and staff. Some participants will focus on a specific area of study and some writ-large. The group will build on the learnings from the exploration that Ujima members have already done and will carry this research forward to get even closer to implementation and investment in projects that meet our needs.
The topics include:
Community Land Trust
Community-Owned Internet
Community Owned Energy
Urban Farming
Creative Economic Placemaking (Black Market)
Community Space
Arts/Cultural Organizing Space

There is also space for members to coordinate study groups on additional topics of interest. Please email cierra@ujimaboston.com if you are interested in getting involved or want more information!
