Greetings from the Eden Prairie Community Foundation!
August brings hot days and back to school shopping. As families prepare for the upcoming school year, all try to hang on to the sweet days of Summer. The Foundation is no exception as we have had some wonderful events and activities so far! A huge thank you to all the nonprofit leaders in the community that attended our Nonprofit Lunch & Learn on July 15th.

This month we have the honor of highlighting Good in the Hood. Founded and run by Rev. Shawn Morrison. Their food programs and support services, holiday help outreaches, basic foot care, and shoe programs continue to grow and offer much-needed relief for hundreds of people in need every month.

"Good in the ‘Hood is dedicated to Simply Making a Difference by Bringing HELP and Inspiring HOPE for all those we have the privilege to work alongside and to serve. Although our service opportunities are not solely limited to the urban community, we do have a purposeful inner-city affinity and a commitment to come alongside those with the greatest need.

We believe that goodness and kindness are inspirational, change-agent qualities and it is our firm conviction that urban renewal can begin when a focused and contagious momentum of genuine kindness is made manifest. Together we are better, and with your kind support, we believe an entire community can be changed for good." -

- Executive Director, Rev. Shawn Morrison

Volunteers are such an important part of what makes the Foundation so effective in Eden Prairie.

Each month we will be highlighting some of our current volunteer opportunities. This month, we are searching for passionate new Hub Ambassadors for our Hub Committee who care about Eden Prairie and want to be a part of tangible change in our community.

The purpose of the Hub committee is to be a resource and connection point for the nonprofits that make such a meaningful impact in the Eden Prairie community. The Hub Ambassador serves as a connector, relationship-builder, and advocate for these nonprofit organizations. As part of the Foundation's Hub Committee, ambassadors help strengthen collaboration among nonprofits, identify community needs, and connect organizations with resources, learning opportunities, and one another.

If you are passionate about community impact and nonprofit collaboration, a natural relationship-builder and connector, comfortable reaching out to organizations and starting conversations, and excited about strengthening the Eden Prairie community through partnerships and shared resources, this is the role for you!

New Youth Sports Scholarship Program Launches

Thanks to support from our partners at Scheels Eden Prairie, the Eden Prairie Community Foundation is proud to launch a new Youth Sports Scholarship Program. This initiative will help remove financial barriers so more local youth can participate in sports, athletic camps, and swim lessons.
