TPP has been a supporter of the St. Mary’s County Science Fair for many years.  The Science Fair takes place due to the efforts of the St. Mary’s County Science and Engineering Fair Board.  Now is the time to support the upcoming 64^th St. Mary’s County Science and Engineering Fair, which is another way to build our STEM pipeline. Click the link below for information about sponsoring awards, advertising, and volunteering as board members, judges, and project mentors.  You will be amazed at the work of these students.

• Dr. Troy Townsend will serve as the interim director of the Center for the Study of Democracy during the spring semester. Professor Townsend received his PhD from the University of California at Davis. He is an alum of St. Mary's College of Maryland ('07) and serves as secretary on the TPP BOD. The Maryland Department of Commerce has a Business Telework Assistance Grant program, providing grant funding to businesses of up to $25,000 to help them expand their telework capabilities. Grant funds may be used to purchase hardware, software, and technical services. Preference is given to businesses with fewer than 50 employees, a good opportunity to support smaller employers. Applications are due January 6. More information and the application are available here: Funding & Incentives Business Telework Assistance Grant (maryland.gov)

Alumni Association of St Mary’s College of Maryland presents two world class holiday entertainment events:

• New York Voices Holiday Concert on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m., St. Mary's College of Maryland will welcome the incomparable New York Voices to the Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center for a festive seasonal concert. Founded in the mid-1980s, this ensemble's jazzy take on holiday favorites is sure to entertain audience members of all ages! • Sondheim for the Holidays  Sunday, December 18 2022, 2:30 - 4PM - Tony-nominated Broadway star Melissa Errico headlines this special holiday performance. Also features pianist Randy Waldman (Barbara Streisand's pianist & conductor for 35 years), trumpeter Nathaniel Silberschlag (principal horn of the Cleveland Orchestra), and Professor Jeffrey Silberschlag (music director and trumpeter).
