Perinatal Support Washington's Parent Support Warm Line
In May the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline went live and it is available 24/7. PS-WA is so excited for this much-needed resource to be available! You might be
wondering when to refer to PS-WA's Warm Line or the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline.
What is the PS-WA Parent Support Warm Line?
- Calls, texts and emails are answered by peers- parents who have experienced and recovered from a perinatal mental health issue.
- We provide ongoing emotional support, wellness planning and targeted provider and community services referrals.
- Available in English and Spanish.
- Not just for parents, we assist family members, friends and providers as well.

When can I expect to talk with a peer?
- Answered live Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:30pm.
- After-hours inquiries are returned by peers on call, 1 to 14 hours later.
Whether someone is needing space to be heard and validated, looking for resources and referrals, or somewhere in between - we meet each person where they are.
The Warm Line is more than just a one time call! We also provide:
-
Targeted Referrals:
We do the leg work by reaching out to providers about availability and insurance. We also refer to support groups, social
services, and community organizations across the state.
-
Check in after Initial Call:
We follow up with parents a week later to see how they are doing and if further support, wellness planning or referrals are needed. Parents have the ability to call or text their peer as needed.
-
Ongoing Emotional Peer Support:
We are here to provide space to talk about the hard things. We have been there and we get it. We provide a listening ear and validation from the initial conversation and beyond the first week if a parent wants to stay connected.
