Awards were presented at the 2026 BrainSTEPS Spring Team Leader Retreat in Bedford, PA, recognizing seven Intermediate Unit BrainSTEPS teams across Pennsylvania for exceptional performance during the 2025–2026 school year. These teams demonstrated outstanding commitment to supporting students with acquired brain injuries, with Bucks County IU #22 among the award recipients and several teams earning the honor for the third consecutive year. In addition, 11 Pennsylvania school districts were recognized for having the highest number of BrainSTEPS student referrals this year, highlighting their dedication to identifying and supporting students with brain injury.
Our May Board & Brush Workshop events were so much fun! We hosted four events across Pennsylvania. In addition to the social connection and creativity, activities like these can support cognitive wellness for individuals with brain injury by encouraging focus, problem-solving, memory, and fine motor skills in a relaxed and supportive environment

This presentation introduces a framework: the Social Communication Implementable and Applicable Lens (SoCIAL). It will also review common evidence-based assessment and intervention approaches for communication after brain injury. .

This Annual Golf Clinic is organized by the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania's ReDiscoverU program and partnering with PGA Hope, the Fighting Back Scholarship Program and Penn Oaks Golf Club. The Learn to Swing clinic is designed for golfers and non-golfers of all abilities. It will include instruction on both the driving range and the putting green by PGA Professionals from Penn Oaks and the surrounding area.

BIAPA has launched its newest virtual support group for adolescents ages 13–21 living with brain injury across Pennsylvania. BIAPA's next Caregiver Support Group will be held on Wednesday, June 10 at 6 PM. This monthly, virtual meeting is open to all caregivers. The meetings are an excellent opportunity for caregivers to meet one another, share experiences and discuss topics of unique relevance to their roles. No pre-registration is required!
