In this edition of Spotlight, we feature the Skate4Concrete program. Skate4Concrete is a targeted, multi-faceted recruitment and community relations program that connects the skateboarding community with the concrete industry.
Skate4Concrete includes three high quality videos to introduce skaters to how concrete skateparks are built and the myriad of career opportunities that are available in the industry:
One of the most successful elements of the program to date is the concrete certification, which provides a great avenue to connect with Career and Technical Education (CTE), STEAM, and STEM education programs. Check out the Concrete Certification Handbook here.
If you would like to help spread the word about Skate4Concrete, download our Skate4Concrete flier and distribute it widely! You can post it in your company’s break room, provide it to the schools in your community and make it available to your customers. Several state and regional associations are very involved with the Skate4Concrete program. If you are active in your local association, be sure they are aware of these resources if they aren’t using them already.
Getting the next generation interested in concrete early is key to ensuring the continued growth and success of the industry. We appreciate your partnership in making resources such as Skate4Concrete available to all who may use them.
