Happy Fall! 🍂🍁🏵️.   Landlovers is back in full swing with lots of activities and events. There's something for everyone.  Don't see what you're interested in?  Have a hobby that you'd like to share with others?  Talk with our Activities Directors to see about starting a new group. 
 
Looking for a great night out?  Check out our Trolley to the Arts or the American Traditions Vocal Competition Semi-finals.
 
Looking to have fun while giving back to the community?  Ring the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign, donate a toy at the Toys for Tots Golf Cart Parade, cook a casserole for Safe Shelter or pack food with Second Harvest, volunteer to work the Flea Market, bid on treasurers at Auctionmania, buy a raffle ticket for a fabulous chef's dinner or a brand new golf cart. You can find the details on all these activities and events on the happenings page on the Landlovers website.

We have two wonderful events to kick the holidays off right, please join us as we take our trolley from Skidaway Island to Savannah for Christmas on the Riverfront and to the Tybee Island Post Theater for the Savannah Repertory Theater production of Every Christmas Story Ever Told.

“Christmas On The Riverfront”

Plant Riverside District-Friday, December 13th

Indulge in various events on stages along riverfront all evening as well as The Festival of Trees and Christmas Market. You will have time to have dinner on your own.

Trolley will leave at 3:45pm from the Skidaway Island Methodist Church parking lot. Passengers will be picked up at 9:45 PM to return to Skidaway. 

Ticket price: $25/person (includes trolley ride two ways)

Space is limited to 37 total. Limit is two tickets per person. Registration begins October 20 at 4 pm.

“Every Christmas Story Ever Told” 

At Tybee Post Theater-Thursday, December 19th

Enjoy this inventive, high-energy production that is a mash-up of all your Christmas favorites from Charlie Brown to It’s a Wonderful Life. You will have time to have dinner on your own.

Trolley will leave at 5 PM from the Skidaway Island Methodist Church parking lot and return at approximately 11 PM.

Ticket price: $60/person (Ticket includes trolley ride two ways plus ticket to the performance.)

Space is limited to 37 total. Limit is two tickets per person. Registration begins October 20 at 4 pm.

The American Traditions Vocal Competition is a major singing competition that takes place in Savannah. Contestants compete for prizes with specialty and major awards ranging from $500-$12,000 and are all paid by check, in person, in Savannah. 

 

Landlovers is offering tickets to the Semi-finals on January 30th!

Talent Contest Shows – Preliminary January 27-29, Semi-final January 30 and Finals January 31

Broadway Show Preview tentative date February 25th

 

The tickets to the American Traditions are $85.00 and include the following:

Arrive 2:45 - 3:00pm Via Trolley from the Landings

3:00 - 3:30pm Private meet and greet with semifinalists

4:00 - 5:30pm ATC Semifinals Round 1

5:30 - 7:30pm Dinner break (recommended Rhett, 20% off with reservation in advance; ticket price does not include your dinner, a reservation code to be presented to Landlovers attendees)

7:30 - 9:30pm ATC Semifinals Round 2

9:30pm Transportation back to Landings

Landlovers Toys for Tots Holiday Golf Cart Parade

 

Sunday, December 8, mark your calendar and start planning your cart decorations for this year’s parade and after-parade party at the Landings Harbor Marina. Donations will be collected for the Savannah Marine Corps Toys for Tot drive. Parade participants should begin to gather at 3:00 PM at the TLA building. Parade watchers are welcome all along the route and to join Landlovers for the After Party which will be held at The Landings Harbor Marina featuring Food Trucks, the Landlovers Hot Chocolate Stand, the lighting of the Landings Holiday Tree, and a special Holiday performances from local musicians.

All the festivities are open to all to Landings Residents. Families, couples, groups, individuals all welcome. New unwrapped toys will be collected along the route and at the Parade After Party. Click here for the parade route and details.

Help continue the Salvation Army Collection Campaign, come Ring the Bell!
 
Landings Landlovers has a long time tradition of "Ringing the Bell" during the Holidays at the Village Walk Pharmacy. We are working on the schedule now; to begin 11/18 through 12/21. PLEASE help us by volunteering some time for this worthwhile cause. The days will be Mon., Tues and Fri. in 2 hr. slots.

Men's Lunch Group

The Landlovers Men's November luncheon will be held on November 12th at Troy Mediterranean Restaurant on Abercorn street. Meet at the Skidaway Island Methodist Church parking lot to carpool, departure will be at 11:45 am.

Rambles in Coastal Georgia-November, 2024

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 10:00-2:00 we will tour the Chatham County Recycling Center. Meet at Skidaway Methodist Church at 10:00 am, we will drive to Chatham County Recycling Center, 1321 Eisenhower Dr. followed by lunch at Bowtie Barbecue. There is no charge for the tour, lunch is to be paid by the individual. 

Let’s find out what happens to the items we can recycle.  The tour typically includes a walking tour of the facility and art gallery, then we’ll head into the classroom for a brief dive into the workings of local and national recycling efforts.  Bring your questions!

Registration begins on the Landlovers website on September 20 at 4:00 pm. the fee is $15 at the door, lunch is paid by individual
