Fall Fun & Updates at SoCal Adaptive Sports!

Hello SoCal Adaptive Sports Family,

As we enter November and the holiday season, we realize that although the world might seem to be a mess, we are so grateful for the many blessings that life has to offer. This starts with the variety of activities that we and many other organizations are able to offer. The Coachella Valley is one of the best places in California for people with disability to lead full lives. Our friends throughout Southern California are also offering so many activities, working hard every day to create greater societal inclusion.  

As we all know this week is a very important election which will determine the direction of the United States, and potentially the world, for many years to come. Living in a Democracy should never be taken for granted. Unlike many other countries, the right to vote in free and fair elections is guaranteed for all. We should vote for candidates who will continue to uphold our individual rights and do their best to bring unity to our Country. No matter who we are, this should not be about a particular political party but should be about who will best ensure that our Country and the ideals that make the United States what it is, continues.  

In the end this is about showing not only our citizens but also the world that in the United States we will continue to uphold our Democratic ideals and that the transfer of power from one President to another shall occur without violence.  We all know this deep down in our souls.

If you haven't already, please vote and make your voice heard. This is a private matter which only you can decide based upon your convictions.

Al entrar en noviembre y la temporada de fiestas, nos damos cuenta de que, aunque el mundo pueda parecer un caos, estamos muy agradecidos por las muchas bendiciones que la vida tiene para ofrecer. Esto comienza con la variedad de actividades que nosotros y muchas otras organizaciones podemos ofrecer. El Valle de Coachella es uno de los mejores lugares en California para que las personas con discapacidad lleven vidas plenas. Nuestros amigos en todo el sur de California también están ofreciendo muchas actividades, trabajando arduamente cada día para crear una mayor inclusión social.

Como todos sabemos, esta semana es una elección muy importante que determinará la dirección de los Estados Unidos, y potencialmente del mundo, durante muchos años. Vivir en una democracia nunca debe darse por sentado. A diferencia de muchos otros países, el derecho a votar en elecciones libres y justas está garantizado para todos. Debemos votar por candidatos que continúen defendiendo nuestros derechos individuales y hagan su mejor esfuerzo para traer unidad a nuestro país. No importa quiénes seamos, esto no debería tratarse de un partido político en particular, sino de quién garantizará mejor que nuestro país y los ideales que hacen a los Estados Unidos lo que es, continúen.

Al final, se trata de mostrar no solo a nuestros ciudadanos, sino también al mundo, que en los Estados Unidos continuaremos defendiendo nuestros ideales democráticos y que la transferencia de poder de un presidente a otro debe ocurrir sin violencia. Todos sabemos esto en lo más profundo de nuestras almas.

Join Our Team: Executive Director Opportunity. SoCal Adaptive Sports is searching for a passionate and visionary leader to become our next Executive Director. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful impact by expanding adaptive sports programs, fostering community partnerships, and enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. We’re looking for a dynamic individual ready to lead the organization, spearhead fundraising efforts, and be a visible champion for inclusivity and wellness. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $27 per hour for 35 hours per week, plus a travel stipend. While based in the Coachella Valley, we’re extending our search to interested candidates in surrounding areas, including Riverside, Yucca Valley, Banning, Beaumont, Redlands, and beyond. We are growing our Inland Regional Center programs, including self-determination, and continue to offer 1:1 and small group coaching and workouts.  If you'd like to take part and/or participate in any of our programs, please have SoCal Adaptive Sports assigned by your Regional Center Community Services Coordinator (CSC). Our Vendor number is PJ5601. We are open to many different modalities for bringing adaptive sports and physical, social, and emotional health to everyBODY!
