Bishop Strickland Asks His Brother Bishops

What Will It Take?

BISHOP%20STRICKLAND.png

Bishop Strickland has penned a powerful letter to the bishops at the USCCB  meeting in Baltimore. Below we share two excerpts from his letter, but we urge you to read the entire statement. And then pray that more bishops will have the courage to join their voices with his.

BISHOP STRICKLAND:

...Many people have asked what it will take for more than a few bishops to finally speak up against the false messages constantly flowing from the Vatican under the leadership of Pope Francis, and I ask myself the same question over and over:

WHAT WILL IT TAKE?

Do you not know that Our Lord will send forth His avenging angels to heap coals of fire upon the heads of those who were called to be His apostles and who have not guarded what He has given unto them?

And yet almost all of you, my brothers, stood by silently watching as the Synod on Synodality took place, an abomination constructed not to guard the Deposit of Faith but to dismantle it, and yet few were the cries heard from you – men who should be willing to die for Christ and His Church.

                                                     *****

...And to the faithful, I put forth the same question –

WHAT WILL IT TAKE?

What if your shepherds do not rally? What if they have all accepted thirty pieces of silver, and they remain silent in the face of falsehood which further pierces the hands and feet of Our Lord? Then what will it take for you to speak up?

Many might say that it is not your responsibility; you can live Truth quietly in your heart. However, to speak Truth can never simply be the responsibility of someone else, because God has etched Truth onto the heart of every person. Therefore, Truth is each man’s property as a sacred gift from God.

Preparing the Msgr. O’Callaghan Center for Mass

OCC%20MASS.JPG

This year as we prepare  St.Joseph Chapel for cold weather,  we have had to consider the "problem" of our larger Sunday congregations. Our decision is to temporarily move our Sunday Mass into the Msgr. O’Callaghan Center.  The projected date for the first Mass in the OCC is Dec.1, the first Sunday of Advent.

The publication of the Messages has resulted in larger congregations, particularly  for Sunday Mass. Often people are coming on pilgrimage from great distances, from across the country and even outside the country.

During the warm weather we are able to expand St. Joseph Chapel to handle the larger numbers by removing the windows and providing additional shade on both sides of the chapel. But when the weather gets cold and we reinstall the side walls, our capacity is much more limited.

Looking ahead, we want to make sure that no one is left out in the cold (and it can get surprisingly cold!) because the Chapel is too full. We are particularly mindful of those people who are already making great sacrifices of time and money just to get here.

Only Sunday Mass will be celebrated at the OCC; Saturday and weekday Masses will continue at St. Joseph Chapel.

For those who love St. Joseph Chapel--as we all do--this is not a perfect solution. But it will not be the first time that the OCC is used for Mass. In 2015 when we replaced the mulch floor in St. Joseph’s with a real floor, we had to use the OCC for a few months. It worked surprisingly well!

JESUS, WE TRUST IN YOU.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Thanks to God's mercy, every day we feel guided and immersed in light, truth and life. This journey has not been easy, but in the hands of Jesus, Mary and Saint Joseph it has been very enriching and comforting. Thank you, Holy Trinity, Mother Mary, Saints, and angelic choir, for so much kindness and help. Do not allow my family to be separated from the infinite love of the Father (ABBA).~Anonymous
