Remember What Matters Most
Hello Bistro Family,
As I reflect on my time at One Bistro, I find myself thinking about the heart of this place and what I hope we never lose sight of.
One Bistro is about food, but it has never been just about food. It is about people. It is about relationships. It is about meeting someone right where they are and reminding them that they matter.
There will always be busy days, difficult moments, unexpected challenges and times when we may wonder if what we are doing is making a difference. But in those moments, we have to come back to the mission.
We are here to serve. We are here to love. We are here to show Christ to the people God places in our path.
We may never know what someone is carrying when they come to the Bistro. But a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, a meal served with compassion or simply treating someone with dignity may be exactly what they needed that day.
We don’t always get to see the impact of those moments, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t matter.
“Let all that you do be done in love.” —
1 Corinthians 16:14
My greatest encouragement to everyone who continues this mission is simple: don’t lose sight of what matters most.
Keep serving with joy!
Keep loving people!
Keep encouraging one another!
Keep welcoming people to the table as Jesus did!
One Bistro has always been about more than what happens in the kitchen or at the tables. It is about the lives we touch while we are here.
Our team, although small, really packs a punch as they prepare fresh meals, takes care of our volunteers, sponsors, our finances or oversees our Board, they care about serving more than food.
That’s what makes us stand out from any other restaurant in town! Xenia may grow and that is great! But One Bistro will be serving up more than just a great plate of food; we will deliver on our promises as a pay it forward ministry to anyone that needs food, community and a place to be surrounded by people that care!
Perhaps God will place you there on a day to be the person who reminds them they matter.
So keep going. Keep serving. Keep loving.
And never underestimate what God can do through one meal, one conversation, one act of kindness or one person willing to show His love.
With gratitude,
Natalie
