BECMA Sustainability Hub Virtual Info Session
with Nicole Obi, Julia Johannsen, and Laura Burnes
Wednesday, July 31st, @3-4pm ET
Register Here

The Black Economic Council of Massachusetts (BECMA) is spearheading a groundbreaking initiative: the BECMA Sustainability Hub. This new Roxbury headquarters will be more than just an office; it will be a powerful engine for economic empowerment, environmental justice, and a thriving local economy in Boston.

BECMA plays a vital role in supporting Black businesses and fostering racial wealth creation across Massachusetts. By establishing a permanent headquarters (the BECMA Sustainability Hub), they can focus their energy on their core mission—enabling Black-owned businesses and Black communities to flourish.

We're excited to announce the very first full Impact Collective community collective action opportunity to directly contribute to closing the racial wealth gap. This is our perfect chance to make a tangible, outsized impact locally in Boston and across Massachusetts. Check out this short presentation including a short intro video about this opportunity.

Lunch & Book Talk
with Ruth Shaber, Co-author of The XX Edge
Tuesday, September 17th, @12-2pm ET

Come meet the inspirational Ruth Shaber, MD, co-author of The XX Edge and founder of the Tara Health Foundation, who promotes health, well-being, and opportunity for women and girls through innovative evidence-informed programs.

“What most investors don't realize is that when more women are involved in financial decision-making across all entities that make financial decisions (including governments, private and public companies, investment funds, real estate development, and individual households), money is managed more efficiently and effectively, investments are more profitable, and companies and governments make better decisions that benefit individual investors and, ultimately, the overall economy.”  The XX Edge

Ruth is also the co-founder and board chair of Rhia Ventures, collaborating with foundations and investors to bring new capital to reproductive health in the U.S. She enjoyed a distinguished career as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Kaiser Permanente from 1990 to 2012.

Featured in Forbes 2020 Impact 50 for her impact investing contributions, Ruth holds an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Yale University.

Looking Back: Collective Conversation with WMRJ in June

Kevin Eppler and Jay Coen Gilbert led an inspiring session about the work of White Men for Racial Justice (WMRJ), sharing personal stories about their motivations for racial justice work, including a father’s regret and the idea of compounded opportunity and responsibility.

Embrace Ideas Festival 2024

Our partners at Embrace Boston hosted their spectacular 3rd annual Embrace Ideas Festival this June at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, selling out over a week in advance! CLTV staff proudly attended as ambassadors for the Impact Collective.

The three-day festival, celebrating Juneteenth and emancipation, featured an inspiring lineup of speakers, including renowned authors Isabel Wilkerson and Dr. Ibram X. Kendi. They shared powerful stories, celebrated Black identity, and explored initiatives to uplift the Black community in Boston.

We came together in a vibrant atmosphere of great food, music, and positivity—all thanks to the dedicated Embrace team. Join us in honoring this event that truly embodies the spirit of community and progress.
