Dr. Michelle McCann currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Community Engaged Learning and Service within the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences at Duquesne University and as Assistant Clinical Professor/Doctoral Capstone Coordinator in the Department of Occupational Therapy.
Elijah Olson currently serves as a registered nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at Chambersburg Hospital.
He brings both professional and lived experience to his new role as board member.

John Savelloni Memorial Golf Clinic Offers Free Instruction
Registration is open for the August 9 Learn to Swing Clinic at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester.The clinic is designed for golfers and non-golfers of all abilities. It includes instruction on both the driving range and the putting green by PGA Professionals from Penn Oaks and the surrounding area.Space is limited, so register today!

NeuroResource Facilitators for Philadelphia and Counties in Central Pennsylvania
BIAPA is currently seeking two NRFs to provide this service, one in Philadelphia and one in Central Pennsylvania.
Applicants must be Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS). Specific job-related training will be provided.

BIAA Webinar
In this David Strauss Clinical webinar, Amanda Heys, MHS, OTR/L; Tori Stramara, DPT, CBIS; and Tracy Graham, MSP, CCC-SLP, CBIS; will explore attention and processing speed deficits following brain injury and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to achieve functional outcomes. Speakers will cover assessment and evidence-based treatment through the lens of an occupational therapist, physical therapist, and speech therapist.

Support Group Corner
The BIAPA statewide virtual support group will meet Thursday, August 15 at 5 PM. This tight-knit community consists of survivors, caregivers, family and professionals from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! Please use thisZoom Link to access the meeting.
Previously the Coping with COVID Support Group, the Health Matters Support Group covers information of concern regarding a variety of health matters that often co-occur with COVID, as well as brain injury. The group meets on the secondand fourth Thursday of each month from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Zoom Link Here
BIAPA's next Caregiver Support Group will be held on Wednesday August 14 at 6 PM. This monthly, virtual meeting is open to all caregivers. The meetings are an excellent opportunity for caregivers to meet one another, share experiences and discuss topics of unique relevance to their roles. No pre-registration is required!
